As Phase 2 is well under way, you may have already seen quite a bit of Singapore staycation offers by many of the country’s top hotels. Before you jump in and book your next staycation, it may be wise to compare prices. Even if the package you see comes directly from the hotel’s website, it is still possible to find slightly better deals elsewhere. I am not talking about online travel agents like Booking or Agoda either as these websites usually specialize in room-only or room with breakfast deals. Given that it is very difficult to travel overseas, the old style of staycations – that of booking a nice room and perhaps enjoying a leisurely breakfast buffet is no longer enough for many Singapore residents yearning to fulfill their sense of wanderlust.
Using SingapoRediscovers Vouchers for Staycations (1st Dec 2020 to 30th June 2021)
All Singaporean adults aged 18 and above have been given S$100 worth of SingapoRediscovers vouchers that can be used from 1st December 2020 to 30th June 2021. These vouchers can be used for a variety of tours, attractions as well as hotel staycations and can be redeemed in multiples of S$10.
There are 5 online travel operators where the SingapoRediscovers vouchers can be redeemed. These are: Klook, Trip.com, Changi Recommends, Traveloka and GlobalTix. You can use up however much of the S$100 vouchers given to you in a single booking but do take note that you can’t combine your vouchers with another person’s vouchers.
As of this writing, about 77% of hotels that have opened in Singapore accept the usage of the Singaporediscovers vouchers. For everyone’s convenience, I have highlighted the notable hotels that accept the vouchers below.
Redemption of the vouchers can be done through 5 online travel agents, one of which is Klook. To redeem, purchase your desired staycation package as you normally would. At the check-out page, there is an option to tick a box indicating usage of the vouchers. Once that is ticked, you will see a box where you can input a voucher code at the check-out. This voucher code is generated via Singpass, where you log-in to select the amount of SingapoRediscovers vouchers you would like to use (you can redeem in denominations of S$10). The voucher code is generated after you select your desired amount and you then copy and paste this code in the check-out page of the booking website.
There is currently a promotion in Klook where they give you a S$50 staycation voucher that you can use in subsequent staycation bookings worth at least S$200 if you use at least S$50 worth of SingapoRediscovers voucher in a staycation booking.
Again, do note that not all hotels that are currently open allow for usage of the vouchers. A notable non-participating hotel is Crowne Plaza Changi Airport – though it may be possible that they participate in the future. Participating hotels have the SingapoRediscovers logo in the booking page.

Sofitel Singapore City Centre
Sofitel Singapore City Centre is offering two types of staycation packages. The first is one oriented towards couples and comes with breakfast for 2, 4pm check-out, S$40 F&B credit, tapas platter and cocktails. It is priced at S$349++ (S$410 after taxes) when you book direct. However, Klook also has a roughly similar package. Only difference is you switch out the S$40 F&B credit, tapas platter and cocktails in exchange for dinner for two. As the latter is a full meal, this may be a better option to choose. It is also slightly cheaper, at S$393 all-in for a Luxury Room. You can book Klook’s package for Sofitel Singapore City Centre here.
This property also has a family-oriented staycation offer. The family package includes S$40 F&B credit, 4pm check-out, breakfast, kids amenities, themed teepee tent and mattress. Klook also has a roughly similar package except that they switched out the S$40 F&B credit and kids amenities with an afternoon tea session for 3 persons. It is also cheaper at S$339 all-in (it is S$335++ when you book direct, or S$394 nett). You can book Klook’s package here.

Its well-designed rooms, complimentary minibar as well as numerous F&B concepts make this place truly a city getaway like no other. This hotel is also conveniently located, just above Bugis MRT station and with a plethora of shopping malls at its doorstep. Andaz Singapore just recently reopened for staycations and is offering vouchers valid for stays until 31st March 2021.
Room Type | Weekday Rates | Weekend Rates | Compared to booking direct with Andaz's own rates | Savings |
---|---|---|---|---|
King Bed or Twin Bed Room | S$300 net (inclusive of S$100 dining voucher) | S$340 net (inclusive of S$100 dining voucher) | S$220 net weekday / S$260 net weekend (no dining credit) | S$20 |
Deluxe Bay View Room | S$350 net (inclusive of S$100 dining voucher) | S$380 net (inclusive of S$100 dining voucher) | S$270 net weekday / S$300 net weekend (no dining voucher) | S$20 |
Andaz Studio Suite | S$470 net (inclusive of S$100 dining voucher) | N/A | S$370 net weekday / S$465 net weekend | S$0 |
However, depending on whether you are staying on a weekday or weekend and the type of room you would like to book, you might check out this alternative set of offers for Andaz Singapore that starts from just S$300 net with S$100 worth of dining credit thrown in. As illustrated above, this offer can potentially allow you to save a bit more on your next Andaz Singapore staycation, even when compared to the special rates the hotel is already throwing in. You can book the alternative offer here.

InterContinental Singapore
InterContinental Singapore has an extremely sweet deal where room rates start from S$250 NET per night inclusive of breakfast for 2 as well as a S$50 meal credit. If you assume the meal credit to be as good as cash, the room rate (with breakfast) only works out to be S$200 NET – a rate that is quite unheard of for a 5-star hotel in Singapore. Its located just minutes away from Somerset MRT also makes it a popular place for just about any weekender, especially those seeking to indulge in a bit of retail therapy or nightlife. Compared to booking direct, booking here for your staycation enables you to receive a turndown gift as well as breakfast and even late check-out. Staycation package starts from S$189 nett. Mandarin Oriental Singapore
Mandarin Oriental Singapore is personally one of my favorite hotels for staycations. The service here is simply impeccable and their pool which faces Marina Bay is definitely among the top hotel pools in the country. That being said, rooms here are often at a premium due to the unblocked views of Marina Bay. Mandarin Oriental Singapore has a couple of staycation packages available – from simple ones that merely include breakfast and welcome drinks to family-friendly packages that include access to Kiztopia or Nerf. If you book direct, rates start from S$449++ (S$528 nett). However, if you book here, the rates start from S$433 nett for weekend stays or S$386 nett for weekday stays. You can book this offer here.

Grand Hyatt Singapore
Grand Hyatt Singapore is another conveniently situated hotel, located in Scotts Road only a few minutes away from Orchard Road’s main shopping centers. The hotel also has a couple of noteworthy restaurants such as Pete’s Place and Mezza9. If you check through online travel agents like Agoda or Booking.com, room-only rates at the Grand Hyatt Singapore average at about S$340++ (S$400 net). If you book here under an alternative set of offers, you get to have additional breakfast for 2 persons, S$50 spa credit as well as 3-course dinner at Mezza9 for 2 persons. This is also a much better deal if you consider the fact that this comes with a stay at the Deluxe Room which is essentially like a suite with a separate living area and 54 square meters of space.

Capella Singapore
One of Singapore’s most popular staycation spots – even before the current situation – Capella Singapore is usually booked out months in advance during the weekends. Now that overseas travel remains a distant possibility, you can even consider staying here during the weekdays! Capella Singapore currently has a staycation promotion that includes breakfast for two plus afternoon tea at The Knolls. Note that this offer is for Capella Club Residences (it is within the same complex) which actually has larger rooms (suites range from 83 to 109 sq meters) as compared to the main wing where the entry-level room is at 77 sq meters. This deal is going for S$800 nett when booked here as compared to booking direct where the advance purchase price is S$765++ (S$900 after tax).

M Social Singapore
One of Singapore’s most popular hotels for staycations, M Social Singapore has been wow-ing guests with its Philip Starck designed rooms. Its loft rooms are usually highly sought-after due to their high floor-to-ceiling windows as well as the presence of stairs giving one the notion of being in some upmarket property. For those who prefer a single level room, the entry-level Alcove Cozy is also quite popular due to its pyramid design. M Social Singapore has a couple of staycation packages, including one which comes with a complimentary cocktail making class with the bartender at the inhouse Beast & Butterflies. Alternatively, there is another staycation package which comes with a perfume making class if the idea of concocting boozy drinks does not appeal. Their staycation package starts at S$211 which contrasts with booking direct at S$176++ with breakfast (comes out to S$207 nett). Booking direct is S$4 cheaper but remember, it does not come with any of those classes. Since the it’s just a S$4 difference, the package may be more value-for-money in this case. You can book the deal here.

Orchard Rendezvous Hotel
A cheaper alternative to the luxury hotels lining Orchard Road is the newly refurbished Orchard Rendezvous Hotel. Sporting a botanic theme, rooms here are surprisingly fresh and bright – an underrated gem, if you will. I stayed here after they renovated and loved the new look of the rooms as well as extra perks like the free minibar, even though the lobby which was not refurbished was a bit tired looking. Currently, if you book here, you can score a staycation for S$200 nett. This includes breakfast for 2 as well as a free upgrade to a Deluxe Plus Room. If you book direct, the rate starts from S$258++ for a Deluxe Room (1 notch lower in category). While here, you can also grab dinner at TungLok Signatures as there is an outlet within the hotel.

Parkroyal on Beach Road
Parkroyal on Beach Road – a conveniently located hotel within walking distance from Haji Lane and Suntec City – is offering a staycation package in its renovated Superior Room that comes with breakfast, welcome drinks and a culinary workshop led by the inhouse F&B team for S$244.85 net which can be booked for both weekend and weekday stays. Personally, I find Parkroyal on Beach Road to be of excellent value given the size and quality of the room. Their staycation package compares favorably against the cheapest room-only option available elsewhere at S$168++ (around S$197 nett) without breakfast, but this rate is usually unavailable during weekends. Even if you assume that you are able to grab this rate for a weekend stay, do note breakfast at Parkroyal on Beach Road costs S$76 net for 2 persons so the staycation package is definitely more value for money since it also throws in the culinary workshop along with breakfast. Ramada Singapore at Zhongshan Park
Ramada Singapore at Zhongshan Park has launched a highly accessible staycation package at just S$182.45 net per room and it is inclusive of a complimentary upgrade to a Park View Room, continental breakfast for 2, late check out until 2pm, welcome drink and 10% off on New Ubin at Zhongshan Park. The main draw of a staycation at Ramada Singapore Zhongshan Park is probably its location right in the heritage area of Balestier Road. There is plenty of attractive architecture all around and some of the age-old shops in the vicinity are last remaining ones of their kind in Singapore. The rooms are of good size with New Ubin at the ground level being one of the popular “tze char” establishments to dine in the city. You can book this staycation package here.

Mandarin Orchard Singapore
Mandarin Orchard Singapore has launched a couple of staycation packages that meld the room experience with its array of dining options, including one at a Michelin-starred restaurant. Depending on your needs, it has the following:
- 1-night stay at a Superior Deluxe Room with breakfast and lunch at Chatterbox (S$280 nett) – book here
- 1-night stay at Superior Deluxe Room with breakfast and buffet lunch/dinner at Triple Three (S$400 nett) – book here
- 1-night stay at a Club Meritus Room with breakfast, club privileges and special menu at Shisen Hanten (S$480 nett) – book here
In contrast, if you book directly in their website, you will find a family staycation package for 4 pax with breakfast and S$80 dining credit. This package starts from S$258++ (at least S$303 nett). They also have a Club Staycation package that comes with club benefits and starts from S$208++ per night (S$244 nett). The rates when you book direct are cheaper but with fewer inclusions so it all boils down to whether you’d appreciate a fine dining 2-Michelin star meal during your staycation. Dinner at Shisen Hanten could easily rack up to more than S$100 per person so if you choose the special package, it might make better sense than booking direct. If you prefer the no-frills option, booking direct gives a cheaper price in this case.
