When you say Australia, most would automatically picture things like the Great Barrier Reef, the Sydney Opera House, the Harbour Bridge, or the Outback. While these landmarks are quite lovely to visit, there’s so much more of the country to explore!
When you’re done with the beach hopping, city tours, and theme parks, why not drive around Queensland and explore its quirkier side? A cheap Gold Coast car rental is easily available, which will help you tour around the area with ease. But I digress, here are a couple of our favourite unusual things to do:
Get Fabulous Food and Fun in a Fang Filled Fiesta

Razzle and dazzle in a flurry of 70’s retro fashion, some foxy ladies, a few funkadelic Casanovas, and a majorly groovy Funk song list. It’s a big bright mind-bending stage with big hair and technicoloured polyester all around, made even more special with a talented cast of acrobatic and dancers, mimes, puppeteers, cabaret and burlesque performers, a few magicians, and incredible musicians. Enjoy sharp macabre wit, fun but cringe-worthy punchlines, and all around unapologetic comedy, over amazing food, buzzing cocktails, and scandalously funny cakes. You won’t be able to get a better dinner and show in the Gold Coast.

If you’re looking for sophisticated society, polite conversation, and socio-political discussions; you won’t find any here. But if you want a deliciously outrageous night filled with puns, burlesque, and alluringly grotesque themes, head to Dracula’s Cabaret on the Gold Coast. Let a German Shepherd Try to Rip Your Arm Off
The title does say “Unusual Things To Do”, so we’re going all-out weird with this one. Don’t worry, Law Dogs Australia will give you a “Public Dog Show With Bite” under the careful watch and assistance of professional K9 instructors and well-trained German Shepherds. So if you’re looking for something excitingly different, take a drive to Stanthorpe.

Now you’re probably wondering “Why on earth will I do that?” It’s actually a lot more fun than it sounds, and it’s a great way to see how security dogs for law enforcement (etc) are trained. After seeing or feeling (if you’re brave enough) these beautiful creatures turn from lovable companions to fierce protectors on command, you won’t even think about trying anything dodgey for as long as you’re in Queensland. Remember, the dogs will remain respectful to you so long as you give the same courtesy. Well — that, and so long as you don’t piss off Matt Hibberd, so be nice to him, alright?

If you want to become a pet parent to a German Shepherd (or other available breed at the moment) from a licenced breeding and training kennel, the Law Dogs Australia can definitely help you. More than just showing you the beautiful pups and adult dogs, they’ll take the time to help you match your lifestyle, energy levels, and personality with a perfect companion to fit. They encourage viewing and testing before you even purchase. They’ll tell you all you need to know and give all the necessary paperwork before they let you take one of their own to a new forever home. They’ll even help you with a proper puppy imprinting so you can learn the commands and resume dog training at home.
If you’d prefer to take your rental car than a coach on the way, there’s safe parking (fenced) in the area for cars, caravans, and trailers with excellent mobility access.
