As I originally intended to visit Canada to attend my cousin’s wedding, I went to apply for a Canadian visa (officially called a temporary resident visa if you’re entering as a tourist) some months back. I recall my past experience in applying for a Canada visa – that was some 10 years back – and my experience then was unique for it was the only developed country visa application that did not require me to personally appear at the embassy or consulate. Canada’s visa policy was already progressive back then in 2005 and I was relieved to find that over the past few years, they pushed the button further where visa applications are concerned. They now allow applicants to submit entire applications online, saving one a long commute to the post office just to submit documentary requirements for visa applications!
If you’re a Filipino applying for a Canada visa in the Philippines, you have the option to submit your application through hard copy by post or online via Canada’s centralized MyCIC website. I went with the latter option.
If you do choose to submit your application online, you should be able to photograph or scan your documents. An application that is able to merge PDF files is helpful. Alternatively, you can also put photos under a single MSWord file.
These were the documents required from me for the online application:
IMM5257E – the application form which needs to be filled out electronically as well. There is no need to sign this document by hand. Electronic signatures are used here which means to say that you just type your name electronically on the signature box.
IMM5645E – Family information. It’s a bit tedous especially if you have a large family but quite straightforward. Essentially, you are required to list down the names, ages, addresses and occupations of your parents, spouse (if applicable), siblings and children. It was quite easy for me to do as I have a small family.
Passport-sized photo that is at least 600dpi. Scanned.
Passport, a scanned copy of it
Purpose of Travel – the applicant has the option here to present any or a combination of the following: plane ticket, itinerary or an invitation letter from a contact in Canada. I did neither and just put in a cover letter explaining why and when I intended to visit Canada.
Proof of Financial Support – I submitted a screenshot of my online banking statement as well as my employment certificate. The employment certificate shows my duration of employment with the company, job title and salary.
Travel History – For this requirement, I scanned some of my more notable visas such as the US, Japan, Schengen and New Zealand visas plus my past Canadian visa
Optional documents – I didn’t include any
Visa Fees – The standard visa fee when applying online is 100 Canadian Dollars.
Timeline of Application
April 9 – submission of application online and payment of visa fee
Between April 9 to 14 – I keep getting email updates regarding my application but when I checked in the MyCIC website, there was nothing. I am not sure if this is a technical issue. I suppose there is no way around this except to keep checking whenever these updates are sent
April 14 – my online application was updated with a passport submission request
April 17 – I shipped my passport and submission request letter to VFS Canada in their Makati address via LBC and enclosed the manager’s cheque for passport transmission. For more information of their fees and on their mailing address, you can refer to their website here: http://www.vfsglobal.ca/canada/Philippines/index.html
April 24 – I received my passport with visa! I was given a multiple entry visa valid until the expiry of my passport.
How to Increase Your Chances of Getting Approved (Personal Observations)
- The approving authority will be more confident in approving your visa if you are able to show evidence of trips overseas. So do include snapshots of visa / passport stamps in your application
- Unlike other countries, Canada doesn’t publish a minimum guideline on how much money you’d need for a trip there. As a rule of thumb, $100 to 150 per day should suffice so your bank account should at least have this multiplied by the intended duration of your trip. For instance, if you are looking to visit for 10 days, be prepared to show at least $1,500 in your bank account. If you don’t have a flight ticket booked yet, you need to factor in an extra $1,000 to $1,500 to the amount stated above
- If you have a contact in Canada, the better. Ask them to write an invitation letter for you or at least a letter assuring Canadian authorities that they know your character and are confident that you’ll return to your home country
- Be specific in expressing your intention to visit. If it is to go backpacking across Canada, try to include an itinerary. If it is to attend a wedding, attach a wedding invitation
Three Important Pillars in Getting a Canada Visa
#1: Employment
Your current employment status is a key indicator on whether you’d be granted a Canada visa. The authorities will be more confident of approving your visa if you can show that you have a full-time job. If the job happens to be of a blue-collar nature, you may need to show a higher bank balance in order to be granted the visa.
#2: Bank Balance
How much money do you need to show in your bank account in order to be granted a Canadian visa? I mentioned previously that as a rule of thumb, you need to show at least $100 to $150 per day of your intended stay in Canada plus $1000 to $1500 more to factor the cost of the plane tickets. This is assuming the applicant holds a permanent white collar job and can show proof of it. For blue collar workers, the amount you need to show would have to be greater. There is no hard and fast rule but the equivalent of $10,000 bank balance should be enough. Try to avoid sudden huge deposits in your account. This is a red flag to the authorities that applicants are trying to stuff their accounts in order to meet the requirement.
#3: Travel History
If you can show that you have traveled to a number of countries prior to your Canadian visa application, your chances of getting the visa will be higher. Greater weight is placed on visits to other industralized countries such as USA, Japan, European countries, etc.
I am applying for a Visit Visa in Canada for 55 days covering both Christmas and New Year as part of the Christian Tradition. I received a duly-notarized invitation letter from my elder sister and I prepared all other documents ready.
I’ll be applying in person since it was mentioned in the website not to mail-in the application and submit it in person since they’ll be collecting my biometric and other stuff.
Now my question are:
1.) Do they allow walk-in Visa applicants and hand everyone priority numbers any day of the week?
It was not mentioned in the site whether to book an appointment or not.
Another thing is that, I’ve read in the VFS site that availing of their services is voluntary. Meaning it is not at all compulsory.
2.) If I do walk-in application, will it hurt my chances of getting a YES if I do not avail of the VFS service?
I’ve left all my expectations and I’m just hoping for the best.
I am pretty sure that their services and assistance isn’t for free.
3.) Upon submission in person, where will I place all my documents?
Is it proper to use Brown Envelope or a folder?
4.) Will I undergo series of interviews?
5.) Biometrics Fee. Do they allow payment in cash upon application?
The Manager’s Check I will submit only covers the processing fee, so I’m thinking of just paying over the counter in cash on the very day of my application. I just need further clarification on this matter.
Thank you very much & God Bless =)
Hi Roisven,
I am happy to see this post of Bino. I just followed his online application and viola, I will be in Canada in next month! wohohooo!! (although, as of this writing my passport is for stamping).
I would like to share my experience with VFS. I applied twice using the in-person application wherein I brought all the requirements and stuff, and yet, I failed. huhuhu! They will not assist you in a way that they have mentioned in their website. They will just collect and check your documents, put it in an envelope, ask for payment (prepare around 1000) for the processing. This is aside from the C$100 payment for the visa itself which you can pay online.
To answer your question. here:
1.) a. Yes, you can walk-in. There is not much queue as I have observed. Be ready for additional 100 pesos for the baggage counter, No bags allowed inside.
b. You may opt to choose the online application (which I did and I passed), but still you will need VFS if your original passport will be requested for stamping. You will still pay <600 for that!
2.) No guarantee from VFS. They are just merely collecting the documents. They don't even give tips which I was expecting too. If your papers are okay, there is no way yours will be granted. I tell you, I passed on the third application. 🙂
3.) They have their own envelope (plastic as I recall).
4.) Canadian tourist visa does not need interview. So tell your story in a cover letter. This is helpful.
5.) No need for biometrics for us Filipinos (I think)
Hope I helped you with this bro! Let me know if you still need additional info.

Hi,
I am applying online but I could not seem to type my name in the Signature box. Any tips how to add the signature? thanks in advance.
You have to use Adobe Reader (or maybe there are others that can work too, but I haven’t tried). Other readers will not work (I originally tried with Foxit Reader and it couldn’t process the signature.)
Sir ask ko lang kung anu lang b requirements pag mag aaply k ng visit visa?wla nbang interview?tnx.

Hi, i just want to ask if how i can apply a tourist visa to canada? It will be my first doing these but i don’t know the first thing to do. I plan to visit alone there this year and I don’t have any relative’s or family there to ask for invitation letter. I just want to see the place of my own well. Im still a student im not working yet do i still need a bank statement for requirements? What requirements do i need and how can i submit it?pls need help asap
I think it’s better if you travel to other non-visa countries first. Prove your financial statement but since you’re still a student, maybe you should ask your family to go with you.

Hi bino,
I just wanna ask some questions, I have applied at vfs and my application was denied due to some reasons 1. Employment 2. Not enough funds and 3. I am single.
In my certificate of employment it was not indicated how much my salary or annual. Regarding funds my brother told me they can transfer some to my account as i have put 6mos on intend stay. Although i have no plans of staying there for that long. Being single, i cant solve that. Btw, my brother is PR in Canada, I applied for myself my mom and dad, unfortunately i was the only one denied and they both have multiple entry.
Now, I am planning to apply again. I have asked my boss to be more specific in my certicate of employment and indicate my annual gross income. Do i need to submit again all my documents like papers from the house i bought, (title not in my name yet is that a problem?) my bank statement and old passports with full of stamps in asia as i travel a lot due to my work.. I didnt include an ITR last time, do i need to include it? I hope not. Cos honestly my ITR was not updated for a very long time. I do hope you could help me and give me some advice and tips. Thank you so much!
Do i still need a show money kahit na ung cousin ko na nag iinvite sa akn ang mag shoshoulder lahat ng expenses ko pag dating ng Canada? How much?
Good day po. Pano po pag wala travel history? First time po aaply abroad for tourist visa.. main reason po iss to visit my wife who is working in canada
hi, I am applying for a tourist visa and had an invitation letter from my sister without her signature. My question regarding the invitation letter does she needs to sign the letter or i can request her to scan a copy of her invitation letter with her signature and send it to me by email? Thanks
hi Bino, thank you for this helpful info.
I did some trial how to apply online for the preparation of my second application since my first application was rejected.
I applied on paper and now I am thinking to do it online to save time.
My question is do I really need to have a GCKey if I don’t have any partner online banking?
thank you so much
Hello,I’m a midwife and I have this host family who wants to sponsor my tourist visa so I can get to Canada right away. They said that when I get there, we will process my papers so I can continually work for them as an aupair. I just want to know if tourist visa is possible for this matter, especially if the true intention is to work for the host family? I don’t have a regular job and just doing a part-time job at the moment as health assistant to a kid with cerebral palsy. I really don’t know how these things work since this is my first time to go overseas if ever.. Some advice would be greatly appreciated here.. Thank you!
Hello, Gailadriel! In my opinion, Temporary Resident Visa is not the right option for you. When you apply for a TRV, you will need to provide documents that will show strong family ties here, your financial status and assets. Basically, you will have to convince the visa officer that you will return in the Philippines after your trip and that you have the money to fund the trip. If you really want to work in Canada, then maybe you can apply for the work permit 🙂
HI I just want to ask if you werr required to submit a medical check up? Because i’ll just visit for 2 weeks. Is is still required? 🙂
Nope, I didn’t submit a health check-up result
hi i have question??
how many days to get that visit visa..
i have plan to apply..
i have already invitation letter and more ids of the person inviting me tnx
Hello,
For travel history, do I have to photocopy the blank pages of my previous passport or just the pages with visas and stamps?
Btw, your page is very helpful.. please keep it up!
Of course it’s just the pages with the visas and stamps. There’s no travel history to present on the blank pages since there’s nothing on them.
Hi sir kindly send me a mail . I have invitation from canada. How i apply .what kind of documemts required ?
Kindly send me detail please at my email id. (Sak.attock@gmail.com)
Thank you so much

Hello Bino.
Ask ko lang, what if unemployed ako? Tapos nagsend ng invitation letter sa akin yung mom ng boyfriend ko for a tourist visa. And she indicated sa letter na she will be the one to provide sa lahat ng mga needs ko while I’m staying in their home. Since nag-aaral pa yung boyfriend ko and he’s is technically not living in Canada sa ngayon. May possibility ba na magdeny yung visa ko if wala ako mapakita na proof of funds? Thank you. God bless!
Hi Diana! No harm in trying that.
Hi Bino. Do you think pwede ba ipasa ang application for tourist visa thru mail? Or Mas okay ba na online na lang? Thank you! God bless!

Hi Kish, nakapag-pasa na ako ng application ko nung October 7. So waiting na lang ako for result hanggang end of October. Hopefully talaga ma-approved ako! ?? Ano ba yung case mo?
Hi! Just want to ask kung approved na ung visa and ilang days bago na-approved? I’m planning to apply on oct 31 and i have a flight to another country on nov 24. Gusto ko lang sana malaman kung aabot ung passport. Thanks
Hey Diana, ano na status ng application mo?
Hi Diana, i have a really similar situation. How’s your application? I would really appreciate your response. Thanks!
Hi Kristim, Hows’s your application?
same situation here too! please we want to hear from you so we will have idea what to do po. thank you !
It’s very disappointing that I tried to ask for your advice 3 times ( here, gmail and facebook) but you just ignored it. I know you are not an immigration consultant but what is the use of this blog forum. Thanks anyway.
I am a Canadian as was my parents and their parents before them. I read your email and your disappointment with not getting the information you need. I can supply you with the info you need–you can email me, Melai.
Hello! I did the same a week ago and received a letter for passport request. Is it confirmed that I am granted the tourist visa already? I will go to VFS tomorrow but I am too excited that is why I am asking now. 🙂
Hi Ces, if they do ask for your passport, yes it looks like your visa will be granted 😀
I submitted my passport earlier to VFS. The guy there stated the same. I am positive on this and claiming that I will have my passport stamped with the Canadian visa.
I am really thankful for your blog because after reading your experience, I immediately tried the online application versus the paper application, plus I put a well-presented cover letter, which I think nailed it. hahaha!
Helo.im applying for visitor visa for canada..may i know wats the format of the cover letter ? Thanks
Hi Coco, There’s no indicated format .For me, I just wrote it like any ordinary letter!
What are the common questions asked by the immigration officer at the border bfore u were allowed to enter canada? Thanks

Can one change or convert his tourist visa status to any other visa while in Canada…
What’s your take on this..
herbertmols@yahoo.com..
Hello.im applying online .where do i address my bank certificate ?is it at the visa section canada embassy at manila? And how do i make a cover letter? Any example please.thanks
Hi Coco. There is no format on the cover letter. Also on the bank certificate they are not to strict on who to address it to. Even a “to whom it may concern” should suffice
Hi, I’m applying online for a visit visa.
Can you kindly tell me the file format / file type to be uploaded for form IMM5257E and IMM5645E?
Do I need to print the accomplished forms and scan them as .PDF files or just upload the accomplished electronic PDF form?
I’ve been trying to upload a scanned .pdf copy but the file is being rejected.
Thanks in advance!
As far as I know, those 2 forms need to be filled out electronically via your PDF software. The answers are not to be written by hand. Hope this helps!
You can fill-out IMM5645E by print (handwritten) as long as you use black ink as per instruction. IMM5257E, however, should be filled-out electronically as you need to VALIDATE the form.
Hi All,
Need you assistance.
I’m trying to fill out the TRV form and Im now in the immigration status section.
As I’m working in overseas (middle east), I needed to put the date when I started working in my current company. There is a field where you need to enter the end date – probably for the contract or visa? Can I leave it blank since I have an open contract? It’s marked in red and I’m not sure if It can be left blank and leaving this field blank may result to a delay?
Thank you!
Joe
hi, thank you for your blog it is very helpful, I followed your step by step guide and my online application was processed within 8 working days, however even though i have an existing US visa (10 years multiple) my application was refused stating that it has something to do with my employment, I managed my own business currently and on my DTI license and franchise contracts it will expire on April 2017 that is what i wrote on my visa application IMM5257E, maybe they thought that my business will cease on 2017 which of course i plan to renew upon its expiration, how shall i fill the part on employment from date __ to date ____ (should i write the exact date or should i write up to present i’am confuse)
why there’s no reply on my inquiry?
Hi,
How long is the single entry visa valid?
Hi Crista. There is no fixed duration. Even the multiple entry visas can be valid only for a short while.
Hi Bino,
I plan to visit canada in september 2016, when is the best time i can apply for my tourist visa?
Thanks in advance
My visa application procedure only took around 2 weeks but I guess it’s better to apply around 2 months before your intended trip
Hi Bino,
You mentioned this is your third time application. May I ask what is the interval time from your 2nd application before you apply for the 3rd?
Thank you!
Nope, it’s just my 2nd time to apply. Interval between first and second is about 10 years
Hi,
How long of stay did you mention on your application?
If I remember correctly, I indicated a 1 week stay
Hello! What if a student apply for a tourist visa? Thanks.
how much is the minimum savings for the visit visa to be approved?
Hi Anne – this is covered in the article. Pls take a look at it! Thanks
Hi
Just want to know about the cover letter..what is more better handwritten or a type written?
they refused my first application for several reasons:
– Travel History – I dont have any for this is the first time
-employment prospects- i submitted my employment cert and leave of absence
– not provided sufficient documentation to support your/ your host’s income – i submitted my bank cert but i haven’t include my hosts income..
can anyone help me on how to overcome this and whats the other strong documents that i can include so they can grant my visa..
thankyou and godbless.
Got the same Problem too…
The reasons as to why your visa was rejected has no relation to whether your cover letter was handwritten or computerized. You did not give specifics, but it seems like the authorities were not satisfied with your employment status currently and income documentation.
hello what are the requirements of the person inviting to visit Canada? is it just the invitation letter? or are what else? hoping for your kindest reply. thank u
Hi, i am a permanent resident of Canada and I am planning to get a tourist visa for my husband. He is in the philippines and unemployed. I will cover all his expenses. My question is… should i buy him a round trip ticket even if i am not sure if he will be granted with a visa? Thanks
It is wise if you purchase your plane tickets after you’re ensured that your husband acquired his visa.
my boyfriend is planning to take me to Canada next year soon but I am unemployed too but he shoulders everything do you think they wont mind that I dont have big savings or bank account?
after completing the application online where should i send the passport? Since
i will only send the scanned passport when applying online? And for the online payment did they accept any credit card as long as it visa and master card?
Hi Monic, if your application is successful, you will receive a message after a few days requesting for your passport. Details on where to send it will be indicated when that occurs.
bino, will they accept debit card for payment?
Hi,
Thanks for your blog post. Just to clarify, did you have to send any documents to CVAC Office besides your passport? There doesn’t seem to be instructions on online applications on CVAC website (just in person and mail).
“Step 2 : Fill out the application form and other relevant documents electronically and print.
Step 6: Arrange forms and documents according to the CIC checklist.
Step 9: Mail in or courier your completed and signed application forms and supporting documents as per checklists, along with your original valid passport, recent photographs, visa fee as instructed in the CIC fee schedule, and VFS service fee charges in Managers cheque/Demand draft.
Place in a sealed envelope and mail to
Canada Visa Application Centre,
Mezzanine Floor
Eco Plaza Bldg.
Chino Roces Avenue Ext Pasong Tamo Ext Makati city. ”
Thanks!
Nope – it was just the passport for me
IMM5257E – the application form which needs to be filled out electronically as well. There is no need to sign this document by hand. ” Electronic signatures are used here. ” – what do you mean by this ? does it mean affixing a scanned copy of one’s signature ? Is there a need to download and print any of the accomplishec forms on line or you just upload the application forms and supporting documents ? What is the link to apply on line ?
thanks,
Leonor
Same sentiments here. I could not type anything on signature box. Any tips?
Do you have Adobe Acrobat reader installed in your system?
I got it Bino! twas a system error. I submitted my application last week and im waiting for the verdict.
Hello Bino! How are you? I am not sure if you are still subscribing here but I hope you do. I actually confused about sa fees na pagagawan ko ng Manager’s cheque. I applied online and CIC requested my passport to send it to VFS. Which fees do I have to pay? Please reply. Thank you!
Hello Bino, such a great article. Thank you for sharing, it really helped me a lot. In fact, i am 90% complete with my docs and requiremnets and will be ready tom for online lodging. I just wanna ask you if you were required to do biometrics? Just like yours, I will apply online. Wish it will be as fast as yours too. I intend to leave for New York my first entry on Dec. 14 and hopefully enter Canda Dec. 18 to spend Xmas in Toronto. Tnx in advance for ur reply
Hi Rodel, nope I wasn’t asked to do biometrics. My application was entirely mail-based.
Hi Bino,
I just got my multiple entry visa. Thank you for this informative article. Great help!
You’re welcome!

Hi Bino,

Hi! Can I do a walk-in for my visa application? Would you know if I need an appointment to apply? Thanks!
As far as I know, walk-in applications are only applicable for specific types of visas and tourist visas are all done via the online route / by post now

Hello
Im Thais nationality woking in the Philippines, I’ve been looking for the blog that would help me to figure it out how to process Canada tourist Visa. As i plan to visit my bf on March 2016. Just quick questions
– Plane ticket — Do i have to by the flight ticket first? before submit the online application form.
– My Bank Statement, there is necessary to having balance in the account? and how much?
Thaks
Hi Kristy, these are already covered in the article. Please refer to it. Thanks!
Hello Bino! This blog is of course a GREAT BIG HELP! I would like to ask about some matters:
1. I just got my passport, is it okay? And my out of the country visit would be Canada
2. Plane ticket. Should I booked a flight first before applying?
3. Bank Financial Statement, how much do I need to have for me to be able to pass and get a visa?
And by the way, I have an aunt in Canada who will be sending Letter of Invitation
Hi MC – already covered these in the article. Please refer to it. Thanks! 🙂
Hello. My 3yrs bf migrated in CA 2yrs ago and he’s now planing to invite me ( Temporary Visa ). So this is just for temporary visa and I have photos with him that can serve as a proof. Any chance na madecline since we’re just bf and gf and not relatives?
If you have a friend inviting you and vouching for you, that is a plus. But your application will still be taken as a whole – i.e. your finances, employment, travel history, etc…
Canadian Consulate are really trying and highly efficient not withstanding the volume of applications
I submitted an online TRV application on 25th Nov,
Got a request for Biometric on 29th Nov
Biometrics done on 1st December
Passport Request on 19th December
VISA on Passport & Delivered: 23rd Dec
This is good, this is great!. Kudos to CIC
Great to hear that! Hope you enjoy your trip to Canada
Hello and thank you for this information,
My girlfriend and I are just starting the travel visa process now and a quick question regarding her bank certificate and employment.
She is currently unemployed but has worked overseas in Malaysia and i will be the one supporting her while she is here as i will state this in my letter of invitation.
Will this hurt our chances of her coming her to visit my family even though i will be the one supporting her and she will also have a return ticket home and health insurance while she is here?
Thank you in advance.
Hi Rick, yes I think being unemployed puts one at a disadvantage when granting of Canadian visas is concerned.
Hi bino,
So we sent a spouse sponsorship last december 2015.. and my husband and I decided to apply for trv while waiting for the result of my pr application.. but then my trv application has been refused.
And its only a week ago since I got all my documents and passport back from VO.
.there is a letter stating that the reason i got refused is because of my travel history. I have a airport to aiport stamp when i went to singapore last oct i was sent back to manila because being ineligible to for the issue of pass under current immigration policies and the singapire immigration attached a paper inside my passport, so when i was about to pass my application i ask the lady from vfs if i also need to submit that immigration letter from singapore since she will be collecting my new and old passport and she said no need ,so i keep it with me. But i got denied. Could it be possibly the reason of my refusal? And im planning to re apply this week ,and this time i will be giving them the paper from singapore immigration. But im afraid it might affect my another application as an immigrant.
Hi, I just recently applied for a visitor visa online. Is that faster than sending the paper’s directly to them? I will be able to finish all the documents that the need by the 3rd week of January 2016. My fiancée will introduce me as a friend since I cannot declare that he is my fiancée. Now he will book a ticket for me for march 19 to 27th, so that’s 9 days. Is not gonna make any conflict while I’m still processing my visa application? I also have a concern in terms of financial support because one I’m there my fiancée is the one who will take care of expenses for me and for everything. How much should I have in my bank account to make sure that I will get approval? Please help me. Thank you.
Hi Aila, I’m not sure it’s a great idea to already book your tickets prior to getting your visa approved. On the money you need to have in your bank account, I already covered this in my article. Pls check that. Thanks.
Hi,
I plan to apply online and it says that I don’t have to print and sign the Application form IMM5257, I just need to upload it after clicking the “validate” button. But what about the the Family Information Form IMM5645? There’s no validation button on it and I can’t even type my type on the signature panel. Do I just upload it also after completing it?
Thanks
I was wondering the same on the IMM5645. In the end, I did it in the similar way as IMM5257, meaning I just upload it after completion. Didn’t encounter any problems doing it this way.
Hi Bino,
Interesting Info. I have a question though, on the Online application they are requiring for a partner agency in Canada. How will I get those? thanks
Hello, not sure what you meant by partner agency. I didn’t encounter this requirement when I applied.
Hello! I would like to know if you need to submit bio-metrics?
Hi Janille, No I didn’t submit that.
Hi Bino,
My parents are already being asked to submit their passports and letters for visa stamping. I thought they had to send those directly to Embassy via courier. No? Why did you have to send your passport to VFS first? Please advise. Thanks,
Reina
Hi Reina, The embassy doesn’t process visa applications directly. It’s really done via VFS so you don’t have to worry about it!
Hi Bino,
will it help me get a visa if I include a letter from my current job stating that they are allowing me to have a vacation for a month? My Sister who is now a canadian sent me an invitation and her bank statement in CA, but I don’t have much in my bank account, only my salary which is deposited and withdrawn every payout. thank you!
Yes, you might as well as your company to include this in the employment certification.
hi..i have a multiple B2 visa from US..As i am going to New York to visit a friend on Mar 2016, we are planning to go to Canada and see some of the tourist attractions there such as the Niagara falls and meet also a couple of our high school classmates who lives in Toronto. Is there a possibility that the Embassy of Canada here in Manila grants me a visa for this? Do i still need to apply for the eTa to enter Canada even if we will go there by bus or by car? Thanks
Hello, having a US visa will certainly improve your chances but they will look at your profile as a whole – employment, financial, travel history, etc
Good day, Bino!
Can you help me about my visa application cover letter to Canada? I just like to show it to you if I’ve written it the right way or in the right format. Can I send it to you through your email address as attachment?
Thanks. I will appreciate it so much if you could help me.

Hi ! I have a bf in Canada and we are planning for me to get there. We’ve been talking for 6 months and he visited and stayed here for a month in Philippines. We are not planning to get marry there as we want to explore the world first. He wants me to see what’s Canada all about and the wonderful mountain in his City. We have photos of us and my family to prove them that our relationship is genuine. I keep the gifts and some proof of the things that I can show to them. We both giving each other . My problem is I don’t have any travel history , I only been to lots of tourists spots in the Philippines but not in other country ( means it is my first time to travel ) I recently quit to my job as a sales clerk and I was working there for 7 months. I am unemployed now but planning to build a small business this week. Will it be hard for me and is there a big chance that my visa will not be approve? And please if u advice something to me what should I do and what I need ..please please I will really appreciate it.. Thank you in advance.
And please tell me which is better , to let them know that we just a friend or bf ?
Hi Maryll, having a friend invite you there will certainly help but I think the fact that you are unemployed and have no travel history will hurt your chances. The authorities will weigh these factors all in all in deciding whether to grant you a visa.
To improve your chances to get a visa, I suppose it’s quite apparent – be employed and have some travel history
I am doing a buy and sell now but didn’t get my business permit yet as it is quiet expensive but if I get business permit , do you think it will help me ? And how long should I wait before I decide to travel Canada after I get my permit ? Is it OK if I go to one place in Asia , is that enough proof for my travel history ?
Thank you for your kind answer.
Hi ! Is it OK to apply for work in Canada even you don’t have travel history ? And how’s the process ?
applying for a working visa is another story.
Hi Vlad, I want to ask you something. Where can I contact you? Please reply me ASAP
“Proof of Financial Support – I submitted a screenshot of my online banking statement as well as my employment certificate….”
So no need to request for a bank certificate from the bank? The online statements would suffice?
Also, no need to submit ITR?
Thanks 🙂
Yes, the online statement was sufficient for me.
I hope sir you will answer my questions above. I do really need help and advice.
Hi Everyone,
Thanks Bino for this post . I want to quote ” Visa Fees – The standard visa fee when applying online is 100 Canadian Dollars.”
What is the payment method? I don’t have credit card I only have debit card. Can I use someone else card? Let’s say my bf’s CC?
Waiting for response…
Thank you !
J.
hi bino, me and my son we’re invited by my sister to attend her wedding, me as secondary sponsor and my son as a ring bearer. she already sent me an invitation. apparently im not working and our finances are coming from my husband in uae. me and my son already traveled to malaysia and singapore do you think there will be a possibility that we can travel to canada this coming may too?
and also can i apply online then pay the fees at the bank? thank you
Hi. just wondering how’s your application. Because I’m planning to invite my sister and her family too for my wedding.
Hi did you get an approval from canadian embassy? Please share your experience.
Hi. Does The Letter OF invitation Need to be Mailed Via The post Office or Can IT just be emailed to The applicant? Ty
my cousin mailed his invitation letter, and was duly notarized by local Canadian authorities before he sent it to me.
Hi Vlad,
Did you apply online? How long did it take before they respond to you or request for your physical passport?
In my case, I’ve submitted my online application on October 3 (in the Philippines). It’s been 3 weeks and I haven’t received any updates from CIC. I only received 2 auto e-mails (on October 4 and 20) saying that my application has been updated, but there were no updates in my account inbox. My application status is still open. As per checking, currently the normal processing time for the Philippines is 16 days. I have contacted CIC using the IRCC Web Form since my application already exceeded the normal processing, but they are not responding.
It’s kinda frustrating since I need to fly to Canada on second week of November. I just hope to receive favorable response from them this week.
Has anyone here experienced the same? What happened?
Thanks.
Hey Chris. I was more ‘hands on’ in applying. I personally went to VFS to make sure everything I submitted was complete. As of this time my application is still being processed. I hope we get ours ASAP.
Hi vlad. Someine invite me from canada . Invitation letter is need original or just she can mail through internet ?(Sak.attock@gmail.com)
Thank you so much
By the way, I submitted my passports, old and new.
Hi Vlad/All,
Today, I’ve received an auto email saying that I have a new message in myCIC account. I checked my account, and boom there’s ‘Original Passport Request’ (finally after more than 3 weeks). I will submit the passport with the letter they’ve attached tomorrow in VFS Office in Makati. Yeheey!
Hope you receive yours as well. All the best!
Hear hear! Congratulations and have a great winter up north!
Thanks for this very informative blog Bino. I am planning to invite my parents here in Canada, i am on working visa valid until 2018 coz i just renewed it. My questions are:
1. Do i need to provide my bank statement when inviting them even if they are rhe ones who will cover all the expenses? I want them to come coz i am giving birth by july & i want them to be there at least for a month for me.
2. Parents had previous US multiple visa, but my dad recently retired while my mom still working in the gov’t, do they have a big chance to get canada tourist visa?
3. They are planning to have family application, my sister in unemployed & the other one still studying, is it better or not?
Thanks for your time. I hope u enlighten me with this one. GODBLESS!

Hi I am filipino i will going to visit thailand .. can i apply visa from thailand to visit my boyfriend in canada?
I hope sir you will answer my question above.. i really need your advice thanks.
hello there.I just wanted to ask about the visa application i would like to apply tourist visa to Canada this coming may 2016, but my projected date going in Canada would be late this year. Now my problem is that my passport is expiring early next year. would it affect my application? Or if so would they require me to renew my passport first? thank you
Hi Bino,
Like what all others are saying “Thank you” for your post, it was a great help. My family and I sent our application online Feb 8, 2016. I saw that they read it the following day. Feb/ 17, I got an email telling me to check on the update but when I visited My CIC account there was none. It was just stated OPEN status for the application. I’m a bit worried because our tickets (Manila going to USA) are already booked for April 2. My Canadian citizen sister (also a Filipina but temporarily stays in Sacramento), plans to take us with her for a quick visit to Alberta (long drive) this April 9. I wonder if I could make any follow up with the Embassy concerning the status? 9 working days had passed and still no feedback from them. Can i make any follow up? WOULD APPRECIATE YOUR FEEDBACK.
cLAIRE
Can anyone tell me where to follow up the status of our temporary visitor’s visa application filed online last Feb 8, 2016? 9 working days had passed and still no feedback from CIC. I got an email from them concerning an update but when I opened my CIC account there was no new update it just says there OPEN. I’m a bit worried since we are already booked this April 2 and plane tickets from Manila to LA had already been paid. Per my sister’s invitation, we will long drive from Sacramento to Alberta and I have very well informed CIC about that and sent relevant attachments like invitation card, citizenship ID card of my sister. I wonder if it the approval really takes this long? Pls help.
Claire (Manila)
Hello Claire, have you received a feedback? U submitted your application the same time as my niece and she hasn’t received anything yet.she was advised to check her email but there was no update.please let me know thanks
Hi Claire! I have the same concern. A week has already passed and I haven’t got any updates from CIC yet other than the Submission and Confirmation. Were you able to get your visas? How long did CIC processed your application? I’m just thinking that ours might have been taking longer as it’s a family application..or not. I really hope I’d get any update from CIC anytime soon.

Hi Bino and to you guys who help by leaving comments here. ?
I would like to ask (since most of the queries are travel/visit visa) if base on your judgement I am qualified to be given such a visa.
My main purpose is to have an examination on a regulated profession. The licensing body will send me a letter for visa purposes and the result of my credentials stating that my education attained is the same as to Canada.
In terms of properties/assets that were mentioned, I don’t have any except for a bank account but my parents do have the former. I also resigned from my work because of the review of my upcoming exam this July. And that this will be my first time to travel outside the country. On the other hand, I have a relative in Canada. Will an invitation from my relative help to obtain the visa or the letter for visa coming from the licensing body would have suffice?
Should my parents, for instance, transfer a land property under my name just to have a property/asset?
Thank you much! Your answers are highly appreciated! ?
The invitation letter from the relative and licensing body would definitely help but I’m not sure whether transferring properties to your name would be enough for the Canada immigration authorities to be satisfied you’re coming back. After all, one can own a property in the Philippines and still not live there! I think having a job in the Philippines still has more weight to them than a property in your name.
I will consider your suggestion, Bino. Thank you so much! ?
I will consider your suggestion, Bino. Thank you so much! ? Also, is a business will also be considered or it depends on what type the business is?
Yes, it matters what type of business it is and what sort of documents you have to back it up.
Hi Bino,
i would like to know if you declared having a relative in Canada in your online application?
thank you!
Bino quick questions lng..
What if my job only hir is a butcher in monterey but my wife is a goverment employee but i am only employed for 3 months and i dont have travel history, but my wife has, hongkong en singapore, we have joint account and also condo en car properties, is there any chances to get approved for applying tourist visa in canada? I have cousins there, en my cousin has no special occations to invite me..what reason or occation shoud i reason out to invite me.. im planning to get an emplyoyer there i know its not allowed but i will do my best to get hired there, but ill make sure to return hir in philippines if my visa expire, all i need is an emplyer that will hire me.. then my procces papers for work permit.. is it questionable for immigration that after you tour canada then you will go back again coz you have employer hiring you en proccess your papers? Hope u answers all of my questions… thank u.. your answer will be helpfull for me and to others..
Bino correction to my comnent i am presently employed for 3 months now..
Thank you!!
Hi Bino and guys ! Please respond 🙁 ..

Hi. If I will attend a conference with an invitation code from the Citizen and Immigration Canada’s Special Event Code and with a notarized invitation from my sister, do you know any success stories of visa approvals? thank you very much.
Hi nomer. Can you help me plz how to make letter your sister for u ? I have someome to send me letter. But she also dont know how to make . Its must attested from just notary public or need more processing ? And also need original leeter to send me through courier or by internet email is accecptable ?

Hi! I am a resident from the Philippines too.
We also applied for visitor visa, last February 10, 2016, for we were going to visit our relatives there, since we haven’t seen them for years. We then received an email from CIC, last February 25, 2015 saying our application status was updated. We then thought they had a final decision already, but when we checked, nothing has changed. Is it some type of technical issue, or does that mean they’re still processing our documentations and our application? Until now, we have not received any new messages about our status or any updates about our application. How long do we have to wait for the decision making to be finished anyways?
Thank you!
Hello Angeline! I just want to ask, was your visa granted? Hope it was! How long did you wait for it? I saw in your comment that you applied on February 10. But until March 1 when you actually wrote the above comment, there was still no update. I wonder what’s taking them so long to process all these applications?
Hi Bino,
I am planning to apply for a visit visa to Canada and I am wondering If it is possible not to put all of my siblings on my application under IMM5645. Since me and my other siblings didnt know that much personally and I dont even know their occupation neither their address in US. they all live in US with my father. They are my brother and sisters from my fathers side
Hi Bino , I really need your response urgently, I am applying for the visit visa online and one of the required documents is “proof of relationship” any idea what i can use or what can help to be attached as a proof document?
If u are a bf gf or married you can use ur photo wid ur partner much better if u can also provide old or not that too old photo or txt messages or even letters or anniversary letters.. if it is a relative. You can use birth certificate both party your parent birth cert en ur relative parent birth cert.. hope this will help.. 100 % of chances of approval.. but it is subject for approval parin.. : )
If married of course merriage cert only.. just correcting my comment.. i just want to help..tnx..
Hi Bino, thanks for this very informative and timely blog of yours.
I just have a question about the photo, did you do it yourself or you went to a shop and have it taken?
How do I resize it.
Thanks.
Rean
Thank you for this very informative article. I followed this to the letter on submitting my online application and picked up my multiple entry visa this afternoon at CVAC.
My timeline:
Feb 18 -submitted my online application. It was specified on the website that I might experience a delay with my application because they are having technical problems so I was prepared for a longer wait than normal.
March 7- was emailed the Passport Request letter to submit my passport for stamping.
March 9- submitted my passport at CVAC.
March 11- got an email to pick up my passport ( I did not avail of their courier service )
Picked up my passport with visa counterfoil at 3 pm ( their specified pick up time )
Thank you for this blog. Very informative. I got multiple entry as well. No approved visas in the past. Now heading to Toronto.
hi meg… are u in toronto now? just want to ask more how u got ur application successful.
hi bino, when is the best time to apply if my intended departure is October 2016? Can you send thru my email if you have a sample cover letter? and about the picture do i need to put scan it or save on the usb and attach it to the form? thank you! hope i can be granted since I already got my ticket already.. BTW, I was granted a Canada Visa before but same as yours it was ten years ago..
Hi Bino,
My wife is applying for a visit visa in Canada.Do we need to have all the documents notarized?
Hi,
You mentioned you applied on behalf of your family. How did you upload the IMM5713E form?
Thanks!
Hi
We plan to spend xmas/new year in canada. Is it sufficient for the letter to be short and just stating that we are spending the holidays in Canada?
Secondly, we have a friend letting us use his apartment in canada (he is based else where) during the holiday period. Do we need to disclose this in the application and is it necessary for him to give us a letter of some sort on this matter?
Thank you
Hi Bino,
Nice post! btw. I have plans of visiting my bf in Alberta for a week maybe this year. May I know, with whom is the best choice of host should I provide with a great chance of approval? I have relatives in there. I never traveled abroad. TIA.
Hi Angel, did the embassy grant you a TRV?
Hi Bino,
I hope you can still read this. I am applying for a Canada tourist visa online. I am a Filipino currently working here in China, with a temporary resident permit. I am doing some readings on what I should fill-up for my “country of residence”. I believe it should be China. I am just confused because if I do that, the CIC website asks me to fill-out an additional form about education and work which I believe is a requirement for a native Chinese citizen. Can you please help what should be the correct answer to this question. Thanks in advance.
Hi Bino and everyone else here,
Me and my 2 daughters applied online for a visa last Jan 13, 2016 and until now, our passports haven’t been requested yet. I am getting worried since we have a flight to catch on May, 2016. Also, our flight to Canada is on the 1st of June.
A month and a half after the online submission, it was stated that I need to provide additional documents for my daughters and was asked if their father would be coming with us. We are all going as a family because my brother in law will be getting married. Father didn’t apply since he is a holder of Hong Kong SAR passport. Immediately after their request, I submitted the necessary docs including our plane tickets. At the status of additional documents, it says provided.
I have only received 1 update after that. Until now, we haven’t got any reply yet. Tried to follow up with the emails stated, but to no avail. Always replied with auto generated emails.
Really worried now, I thought applying online would be a better option. Even forego applying US Visa because of the delay in our Canadian Visa.
Would you know where I could follow up my case?
Thanks.
Dear Bino
Really grateful for your wonderful post and the way you are helping people here.
Would like to know that:
1. Do I have to send coloured copy of all the documents or black and white will also work
2. Do I have to get them notarized or attested or I can send without it also. How did you do that.
3. Submitting declaration from my father for my return to home country and from employer for resuming the job duties will be a good idea or not?
4. For finance report, sending 3 months bank statement will be fine or I should send 6 or 12 months?
5.Submitting Parents passport will help or not?
Appreciate your swift response.
Thanks
Roxy
Hi Bino,

Hello Bino!
Im actually planning to apply for a visa to Canada, but I do not have a bank account. I do have someone who will get my ticket (and visa application) paid for, including my stay there since it is my relatives who want me to get there. Will there be a problem if I don’t have a bank account? Thanks!
H!

Hi Roxy,
What happened to your application? Were you approved?
Does anybody here know what it means by “details approved” on my application that I submitted online?
I recently submitted my passport to VFS. And after 2 days, the details status changed from “updated” to “approved”.
Hi I was just asked to submit my passport to the embassy and I have a question regarding the CVAC fee. Do we really need to pay it? You mentioned a manager’s check for the passport transmission? How much did you pay? Pls acknowledge Thanks
Hi! I’m planning to visit my friend in Canada, hopefully on July or August. His parents already sent me an invitation letter through email saying they will shoulder all the expenses for my stay including the transportation and food. Do you think I would still need to send my banking statement, even if his parents will be the one to shoulder everything? Will my certificate of employment with salary and 3 months pay slip would be enough? I badly want to get approved since he couldn’t come here this year.
Thank you so much!
Wouldn’t hurt to send those!
Hi Bino..just want to share and asks those who have the same experience..
I applied for Canada visa under visiting visa on March 23, I was asked to submit my passport and submitted to VFS on 13 April, then I received from my MyCIC additional requirements such as military profile since I’m in the military service..I’m just so worried untill now I have no update on my visa yet, and I already booked ticket on May 11..Don’t know what to know, I went to the embassy and they just told me to just wait..
Hi Glenda, I would like to know what happened to your visa application in Canada given the case that you are in military service. My father is a retired military and he was asked to submit additional docs. We are still waiting for their response. Thank you in advance
hello everybody, I’ve already uploaded all the necessary documents and ready to submit but I cant seem to find the way to submit it online?
Hi, I was trying to apply online for tourist visa apparently the site isn’t accepting the form IM5257.
Whenever I try to upload it, it always go error. Has anyone of you ever experienced that too?
If so, what did you do about it?
Will really appreciate it, thanks!
Your post is very helpful!
Hi Bino,
Im wondering if you can answer my question,
I am planning to visit toronto somewhere around March of 2017.
Can i apply a tourist visa this coming June 2016?
Or is there a filing restriction for a certain visa?
Thank you
Hi Patty, I think it’s too early. Of course there’s a chance that they’ll give you a visa with long-term validity but if not confident, I suggest applying around 3 months prior to the trip to be safe.
Hi Bino, thank you for the response … ill definitely take that in mind…. hmmm
can i join you on your next travel .. haha 😀
Hi ! I’m working and living here in middle east. I want to visit Canada this year the problem is I don’t have relatives in Canada that can give letter of invitation. Do you think it’s disadvantages and what will I do? Thank you for prompt response.
Hi Caroline, Canada does not require applicants to submit LOI so I don’t think it’s a disadvantage for you.
Hi Bino,
I have submitted online visa application for my parents from India on June 1st 2016. I have prebooked the round travel tickets and if all goes well, they will be travelling on 16th June 2016. Do u think, we shall get the visa by the travel date?
Thanks
If only I have a crystal ball, I wish I could tell you. But I do think it’s too rushed – you only have exactly 2 weeks between your application submission date and travel date.
Hi Bino,
I accomplished my application and documents based on your post and it has been very informative. I have just submitted my application last Monday and I’m worried that my planned travel date is already in July 16. I am confident with all of my supporting documents though, I have 2 invitation letters coming from 2 aunts, complete with all their tax documents, citizenship certificates and birth certificates. I am also well-traveled and have a stable full time job – also submitted my certificate of employment.
I know youre not the consulate who will approve my visa haha but based on these details what are your insights on the probability of my visa approval. Also, I noticed that the processing time was reduced to 10 days which was 11 before, based on the cic website.
It really depends on a number of factors. Income, amount of money in bank account, proof of close ties in your home country, etc would be weighed in the decision to grant your visa. By the way, I think your timeline is quite rushed!
How did it go for you Bryan?
In my experience, I got denied. For 3 reasons.
1. Travel History (I have traveled in Cambodia and Thailand)
2. Current Employment Situation (Im an IT with 40K+ monthly salary)
3. Personal Assets and Financial status (I haven’t presented personal assets but I have bank certificate with fair enough ADB, >$15,000)
I think it really depends. My cousin wants me to reapply but Im having second thoughts. I just got my Korean Visa, I don’t know if that would help.
Hi donnA,
For my case, I am optimistic with what I have submitted, no substantial updates yet aside from the emails sent but no actual change on myCIC.
My travel history included my travels since I was way younger because I had a US Visa back in 2007. Also, my travels include Japan, China, Malaysia, Singapore, and Hong Kong. I do hope none of these countries raise a red flag for them but rather show that I am well-traveled and very much capable for this Canada trip.
My financials though, I did include SOAs from mutual funds, my insurance policy aside from my bank statement and certification. My bank account does not have a large amount though, only 200k+. Should I be worried about this? I computed based on Bino’s approximation for ideal per diem budget and it seems to fit.
I am hopeful considering I have complete documents on the identities and my relationship to my 2 aunts from Calgary and Toronto. I stated that since it is summer season, it is very ideal to experience Canada especially I have 2 cousins of my age to spend them with.
What do you think?

Hi, since you said you have a friend who’s sponsoring you – the main thing that the authorities will look at is how certain you are to return to Pakistan after your trip. So you need to show documents for this, like if you own any properties in Pakistan, how long you have been in your job, and family members you have in Pakistan who are not joining you for the trip, etc.
Hi Bino, realy tankful to you for your reply, bro I’ve my whole family(my parents,my siblings) are living with me,my brother & sister are unmarried, and I have to arrange their marriage wedding ceremony, ciz my father is retired n having pension,si I’m only a member, runnur of my family + siblings, bro I’ve worked for my parish as a General Secretary for St . Yes, those things you mentioned would be helpful. By the way, there’s no difference in chance of approval between paper and online since you also get to submit letters and documents with online application — you can also get a quicker decision with online. Good luck!
Hi, I’ve submitted my application last week and it has been 6 days already. I received a letter that says I am expected to provide a COPY of my passport. I have already included that in the required documents that I have submitted. Should I receive another request letter from CIC for the physical copy of my passport? Thanks!
Hello, I have also submitted my application Monday last week, June 6. What date did you submit yours? I havent received any substantial update yet aside from the emails that tell me to check my application.
Dear ——–, Visa application, tracking ID ——- – Your processed Canada visa application will be endorsed to courier on 13/06/2016. Metro Manila delivery is approximately 24 to 48 hrs on working days. Provincial delivery in the city is approximately 48 to 72 hours on working days, and approximately 1 week for remote areas.
i just wanted to ask if you guys received the same email from vfs. im just a lil bit nervous and excited to know if my visa has been approved.
Has anyone tried to follow up like through phone or email regarding the status of their application. Or do we just have to wait i vain 🙁 CIC showed that application is typically processed in 10 days. If only counting weekdays today is the 9th day of my application, no actual.updates yet. Is it a good indication though? That my visa is still under review and favorable consoderation or that it is already being prepared?
Hi Bino,
I hope you can help me on this.
I got a message to submit my passport for completion of my application. I already know the address but i dont know what service fee should i include in my managers check. I plan send my passport by lbc like you did. Hope you can help me.
Really appreciate your blog.
Thanks
Adrian
Hi Adrian, assuming you did your application online and got the request for passport, you just need to pay the fee for passport transmission.
Hi bino . I have in my bank account current balance 2000 usd. Is enough for show funds ?
Thanks
Hi Adrian,
May I ask when were able to apply and how long did it take before you got this email?
How many times did you receive email updates and what status changes did actually happen to your account?
Im curious because I havent got any substantial update yet since I applied June 6
Thanks,
Bryan Asedillo
Hi,
Im applying for a visit visa to canada from the philippines. Im filling up the FAMILY INFORMATION form but the problem is the boxes in the form for siblings info is not enough since I have a large family. Do I need to fill up another form?
Thanks,
Julie
Hi Bino,
Thank you for making your article very informative, I now have a rough idea on where to go from here in my quest for a visa application. I do however have a some queries:
I am traveling to Canada to be with a man whom I have engaged in an online relationship with, I am currently unemployed, but I figured I could however present a letter of invitation from him as well as submit a certificate of employment? Is that correct?
Do I have to present his current bank statements as well..? What other options do we have to indicate his capacity to sponsor me?
Does the letter of invitation from him need to be notarized?
I am unemployed, but I have proof of ownership of certain things (my car, and a condo which my father is paying for but under my name) do you think it will help to my advantage?
Thank you and I hope you get back to me promptly 🙂
Hi! I was wondering if I can submit my visa via dropbox in their office in RCBC in Makati instead of using the service of VFS. If yes, where should I pay my application fee?
Thank you in advance!
Good day, Bino! I’m sorry to ask, but I was really trying to search for how many weeks now, the limit amount of the money that should reflect in one’s financial statement, if let’s say i decided or my sponsor wants me to stay with them for like 6 months, what would be the minimum amount that should reflect on my financial statement? Thank you! God bless you and your family!
Very informative article. I am currently assisting my Thai fiancée to come to Canada with me for Christmas. I prepared the following documents:
– Her bank statements with a balance of CAD $200,000, plus bank referrence letter
– A letter of employment stating a steady employment for the past 9 years
– Proof of house and land ownership
– Proof of ownership of 2 vehicles
– Travel history: Japan, Cambodia, Singapore
– My invitation letter (I’m a Canadian citizen)
– Family information: comes from a complete, married family
In your opinion, how strong is that case? We plan on submitting it at the beginning of August.
Hi,
I got a message today from CIC that i need to submit my original passport. How much is the fee to submit it? Thanks!
Hi I am not updated with the latest fees but you can check the VFS link in my article to see what the current charges are for passport transmission
Hi Bino,
Good evening.. need your help, I tried to apply online, after I clicked the MyCIC website, it directed me to My Sign-In Partner, right? I don’t know how to register, does this mean I should open an account to those mentioned bank partners? I can’t understand, please guide me. Thank you..
Not with the bank partners, there’s a specific login for the MyCIC account
Hi Bino,
Your blog is really helpful, I followed your steps and now I have just been notified to submit my passport to CIC. Thank you so much! 😉
Kris
You’re welcome!
Hi! I just want to ask, What if I don’t have travel history! I mean, its my first time to apply for a visit visa and first time to travel abroad as well, is there still a chance for my application to be approve?
There’s no harm trying! Everyone needs to start somewhere, right? 🙂
Hi,
I mailed my passport via lbc to VFS in makati like you did.Based on LBC tracking they received it on July 25. Am I supposed to receive an email from VFS that passport is transmitted? It’s July 28 now and I havent heard from them.
Hi there! I’d like to ask how do you upload all your travel stamps, visas, previous passports? I was trying to upload mine but it’s taking so long to load and it does not go through. Thanks for your help!
Nice explanation on Canada tourist visa process thanks for sharing such a wonderful experience !
Hi! Thanks for your blog post – I really appreciate all the tips. Can you email me the format of the cover letter? Please so just that I can have an idea of the format. You can email it at bosbypunky@yahoo.com. Thanks so much!
Great article! I will try applying for Canadian Visit Visa online, I will to attend my cousin’s wedding this November. I am just waiting for the letter of invitation from my cousin as well as the attachments mentioned in the letter. I just want to ask if those attachments (including the scanned copy of wedding invitation) need to be attached under ‘Optional Documents’? Thank you.
Yes!
Thanks! I have submitted my online application October 3, now is the 8th day and still no update from them. I just received an auto-email on October 4 saying that my application has been updated, but no messages/update in my account in CIC. Hopefully they update me the soonest.
Hi Bino,
Thanks a lot! I followed your instructions here and now I already have the Temporary Residence Visa. 🙂
Just want to share my experience/timeline of application:
Oct 3 – Online Submission
Oct 4- Received Auto Email (application has been updated)

I’ve sent them 3 follow-ups kasi between Oct 4 and 20, wala talagang update sa application ko. Hindi sila directly nagrespond sakin, but after the 3rd follow up nag update na sila sa application ko.
All the best!
Hello Bino! Thanks a lot for posting this informative and helpful article.
I am planning to attend my cousin’s wedding next year and would like to ask if I need to write a cover letter of my intent to visit or a wedding invitation and letter from her will suffice?
I went to CA 5 years ago and I did not include any letter of intent before when I applied for the visa. Was wondering if they are requiring it now.
Thanks for your help!
Nope, it’s not a requirement. It’s up to you if you want to provide.
hi im planning to go to canada this december as my 18th birthday celebration. planning to visit my friend. I would like to ask if what documents should I present to get a tourist visa?
Err… please read my post 🙂
Hi Bino,
a canadian citizen i met online is inviting me to visit and tour in canada, he will shoulder all my expenses while staying in canada, and he will send an invitation letter. I am employed, i hace some money in bank. My problem is we havent met in person yet, he has not been to the philippines, he cant come here not until next year because of his job. He is inviting me to come by December. So i have no proof of relationship like photos of us together. Will this affect my visa application?
Thank you
Ning
Quite weak on the invitation bit if you ask me so you’ll have to rely on your own merit in this case (i.e. how much you have in the bank, job, etc)
Hello,
My friend will give me an invitation letter so I can visit her Holidays in December and so I can tour as well. How can I send proof of relationship(required)? Is that also with invitation letter? What did you upload for that?
Hi Vrenz, if you read my post you can see that I didn’t provide an invitation letter.
Hi bino!
just wondering, do we need to provide evidence of assets or a cert of employment and compensation plus a bank statement will suffice?
Thank you so much!
Hi, you can refer to what I did in my case. It’s up to you.
Hello! Im trying the online application because I find the travel agent fixing my application kinda “mabagal” and he’s asking $100 for just consolidating everything, yet im the one fixing it..
Oh well, my deal here is, im having a hard time uploading the MM5257. I answered it, print it in a pdf form. but they wont accept it.. thats the last item lacking. Im all set already. hope you can help me out! thank u
hi. may friend is canadian, he will applying me for visa and his country, what supposed to do im doing when i receive the visa from him?
Hi Bino…
At the time you applied for Canadian visa, how long was the processing time indicated on the website? Was it also 14 days? That is the processing time now, last updated September 12.
I have submitted my application online on September 6, 2016, and I haven’t received any email/reply until now :(. I am hoping and praying that I get a reply today — 7 days after submission. I’ve been logging in everyday to check on the status, and it has not changed since the day of submission. We need to be there by October 1 for the wedding of a relative.
Hi Yong, is there any progress in your application? I have also a problem, I submitted yesterday my application hoping to receive my passport back before Oct 14.
Hi Grace 🙂
I received the notice to submit passports on Sept 14 and we were submitted our passports the following day, Sept 15.
My husband received his notice to pickup on Sept 19, and I got mine today, Sept 21. I am actually on my way now to VFS to get our passports and we are leaving on the 29th 🙂
I think if you submit your documents now, the entire process will take 2weeks and you will still be able to travel on Oct 14, although it will be really tight in case you come up with something that might cause a delay in the processing. Do check also upcoming Canadian holidays / Phil holidays that may prolong the processing time.
Hi Yong, Congrats on your visa! 🙂 Thank you so much for your reply. I already submitted it yesterday, really hoping for a smooth process. Enjoy on your trip! 🙂
Hello Grace? Have you got updates on your visa application? I sent my last Sept 29 and still no emails from them yet.
Hi! Is my recent trip to HK twice are enough as travel history? I have a fiance in US but we plan to meet in Canada this Christmas for just 5 days. I have a businesses (business affiliation letter and DTI/Business Permit), a credit card and 60K cash in the bank, and another paid trip to Macau set on January. My fiance will pay for the Canada trip. Do you think my next planned trip can be a valid reason for returning home? Your response is appreciated. Thank you!
Hi Bino! Thanks for this! I’m just having second thoughts of submitting my application, I have a scheduled trip on Oct 14, different country. Do you think if I can submit my application within this week I may “hopefully” able to receive my visa before my trip? One more thing, If the principal applicant is my Father(we”ll be visiting my brother) should I still submit my COE? Your reply would be much appreciated! 🙂
My new problem now: I onlined my application Sept 10.. and until now, no email/letters yet asking me to submit my passport. huhuhuhu. Will be leaving Oct 7. 🙁 🙁 🙁
Also, as if Id get my letter by friday or next mon/tues, should i still pursue for my visa? Because im worried I might miss my oct 7 flight cuz passport is not with me. huhuh
Hi Patrick, may I know what happened to your application? Thanks!
Well, unfortunately no answers yet. Since my flight would be on friday, i justcancelled my toronto flight. Not gonna go to toronto anymore.. ?????? lesson learned: do not underestimate visa applications. Apply 3mos before!
Hello Patrick. Have you got your visa already? Just wondering. I too, submitted our application online last Sept 29. And no updates yet up to this time.
Hi Bino! This was an interesting post. I live in Dubai and I have been searching for a blog on how to apply for a Canadian visa and came across this. Though I have already submitted my documents online before I began reading your post, I did encounter the same glitches. After submission, I received two emails saying that I have a message on my account re: my application. When I logged in to my account, there weren’t any new message except for the fact that they have received our applications. I applied for me and my husband, me as the primary applicant. After a week, it happened again. I was getting frustrated. The processing time in Dubai takes longer than in the Philippines. Here is my timeline in case anyone has a similar case:
Aug. 22 – Submitted our documents online
Aug. 23, Sep. 21, Sep. 22 – Received emails that we have new messages on our accounts, (perhaps technical glitches) because when I opened the account, there wasn’t anything.
Sep. 27 – Received an email request to submit the passport at the nearest VFS
Sep. 28 – Submission of passport at VFS
I called the VFS in Dubai to ask how long it takes to collect the passport and they said it usually takes between 4 to 5 working days. Fingers crossed that we get the passport back before our trip to Manila on the 6th Oct.
Hi bino, im Nina.. my canadian friend invites me to come in canada, what should I do to get a canadian visa here in philippines.. its my first time to apply for a visit visa in canada.. pls help me.. Thank you.. and God bless..
hi nina. go to the cic website and gather all necessary documents. if you’ve read bino’s post, i think he already mentioned about the documents you need to submit.
Hi ask ko lang if ever na mag aaply for toruist visa in canada how much ung amount na kelangan to process everything and the show money as well… i am planning to visit my GF next year so that I can plan ahead 🙂
Hi, if you read the article written above you would see the recommended show money there.
Someone help me pls.dont know how to pay online.i dont have credit card.i have only kabayan savings.is that ok for pament?to process?or is there other way to pay visa fee.?tnx
Hi! Is it really a requirement to have the invitation letter notarized? Will they not accept a scanned/printed copy of an invitation letter?
Hello po. Gusto ko lng po humingi ng advice about getting a canada visa as tourist.
I applied po 3times lahat po un rejected. Ung una via VFS hindi daw po cla convinced something. Second time hindi daw po sila convinced n ill be leaving after the vacay. Third time gnun ulit then they dont think daw po n i can support my stay there. My boyfriend is in canada. Immigrant po sila. Ung letter of invitation was given to me byhis mom since ngaaral p po xa. Ngtataka poakowhy nila ko nireject eh i even sent my salary statements. I even have a multiple visa for USA.And i am a cabin crew po. Is it true n dapat di ko po idineclare ang BF ko? Un po kasing ang c sbi nung iba. Im so desperate to have a vacay there as i have 10days leave on january and I want to spend it with him. Pls im asking for any insights po. Im really so down po.
Bakit naman they are thinking that u cant support your stay there, magkano ba ang show money mo?
why not try to apply as visitor without any sponsor?
they might think you’ll marry your bf and acquire citizenship that’s why they refused to issue you a visa.
Hi, I’m planning to visit canada for a month during the summer break in May. I’m an intructor in one of the state universities here in the philippines. My brother and his family are residents of Canada for a year now. I also want to visit the wonderful places they have visited there (posted in their facebook account), and also to celebrate the 6th birthday of my niece. I also want to see my new born nephew, he was born last january. How much money do I have prepare in my bank account? I have a car but don’t have land title or house title. I’m 36 years old, single and don’t have travel history outside the country. Does my status as a single will be of disadvantage? How about having no travel history? What will be the chance of being a government employee? I will not file for a vacation leave since it’s summer break and there’s no classes. My mother and my sister with her two children are here in the Philippines. My sister and his partner are not married. Do think I have a chance to get a tourist visa? and when should be the best time to apply? Thank you very much.
With the strict and upfront policy and guidelines of the
Canadian Embassy and your current circumstance, I am afraid you have a very low chance of visa approval.
Is there anything that I can do to increase my chance of visa approval? If a land title will be transferred to my name, can it at least increase my chance?
Hi! I applied for a tourist visa online. I have submitted my DTI and 1701, credit card statement, screenshot of my bank account statement, travel history to a non-visa country (HK, Macau, Singapore, Malaysia), itinerary, hotel reservation, pictures of my fiance and family, and an invitation from a friend who has nothing to do with my planned trip. We just stated on the invitation that he suggested to visit his country since I love traveling, although we might see each other during my stay to catch things up. We also stipulated that I will shoulder all of my expenses for my 1 week trip so we did not submit any supporting financial documents from him. I’m not bragging but he said I have more funds than him so his bank account will not show any proof that he can support me lol. So I just submitted his letter and a copy of his citizenship. Do you think it’s possible for them to grant my visa? Thank you!
Hi MyPrayer,
I think having no travel history and being single are the biggest factors of you getting denied. Since it’s still early why don’t you go visit some of our Asian neighbors? There are a lot of seat sales around (I think Cebu Pac is currently having one right now to Beijing or Korea). As for being single, the embassy might think that you will look for an opportunity to work there and might never come back here. You should convince the embassy that you have strong ties here despite having no husband and kids. Good work position, more titles to your name can help. Having a good size amount in your bank certificate doesn’t hurt either.
I think the earliest you can submit your application is 3 months before your departure date.
Hope that helps
hi,
I am a foreign national studying in the Philippines ( on my government grant). I want to visit Canada with my family. You think I can go thru the Canadian embassy here or should I use the one in homeland?
Thank you.
Yes you can apply in the Philippines if you are residing there
Hi! Does anyone knows an answer to this?
Me, younger siblings and my mum and dad will visit my sister in canada. I’m 24 yrs old, has work and has traveled ALONE and living alone. Meaning i’m not dependent on my parents anymore, my question is Should I apply by myself or can I join my family on FAMILY Tourist visa application? Should I provide my own employment cert, travel history, bank account in our application or just a passport is enough because it’s a family application and they will just look at my parents bank account? Thank you so much!
Hello bino,,,I’m Moosa from Pakistan.i want to apply for visit visa for Canada for 1 week visit to attend my friend’s daughter’s birthday,,,in February 10,2017,,I’m married having 4 kids,im working as a police constable for last 13 years, I’ve a house on my name,,I’ve an invitation letter from my friend who’s a Canadian citizen for last 16 years,he just visited my house on 14 Nov to meet with me along with his family,he have a only daughter, who’s 11 months old,so do is there need a big Bank statement , besides that I have a invitation letter,my friend beats all my expencess for food, accommodation etc, I’ve $4000 in my account as well,so What’s my chances of getting a visa? according to my above details?and when I should pay for a visa??pl reply me as soon as possible,,thanks,,God bless you,,,
Hello. Just wanted to ask how many months before I should apply for a tourist visa? Say I’m planning to go there by August, is it safe if I apply as early as this month? Thanks 🙂
Now is too early in case they don’t give you a long-term multiple entry visa. Better to apply around 3 months before
Got it. Thanks Bino 🙂
Hello Bino!
Thank you for this really informative post.
I just have one question though, you have to secure a visa before purchasing a ticket, right?
But I have read that having a return ticket to PH will up your chances for visa approval.
So now I’m torn whether I should purchase a ticket first or secure the visa first.
I would really appreciate your kind answer.
Thank you!
In my opinion, it’s risky to buy a ticket first. It doesn’t guarantee approval of visa.
Hi Bino! Glad a I stumbled upon your blog. My sister and I are planning to visit Canada this July or August. I have a brother who is already a permanent resident. Have asked him to write an invitation letter for us. Do you have any sample letter that I can see? I am currently checking out google for any sample to pattern ours but having a hard time finding out. Also, since there are 2 of us going there, when applying by visiting their office in Makati, should our documents be in the same folder or have it separately prepare?
Please advise. Thanks! I am indeed enlightened on how to apply for visa.
Feel free to email me. Thanks!
Hi Bino. Thanks for sharing insights on applying for a Canada TRV. I’d just like to ask if its alright to submit a bank certificate only instead of a bank statement? Appreciate a reply. Thanks
Yes that is fine too
Hi Bino,
Your blog is very helpful. I have an invitation to visit Canada, would it be better or will I have a better chance of getting a visa if I will submit a cover letter stating why would I to see Canada aside from the invite given to me or just stick with the Invitation as a reason for my visit, so not to complicate things?
Is it acceptable to have a screen shot or photocopy of your stamped travel document /passport even if those are stamped from my expired or old passport?
Thank you,
Iris
Hi Bino!
I intend to go to Canada by October to attend a wedding as well. Can i apply as early as now? Would you know what is the minimum tourist visa validity grant?
Thanks!
Lara
There is no real minimum validity – the visa can be as short as being good only for the duration of your stay.
Hi, Bino. Great post about the visa application process – really helpful! ?
Just wanted to ask, though – Does the PHP 543.15 posted on the VFS Global website cover the cost of sending the passport back to me? Should I get a special kind of paid return-envelope from LBC (I don’t know what that thing is called, sorry)?
I received a passport request this morning, and I want to just mail the letter and passport to VFS – securely. Daming tao kasi don nung nagapply ako dati para sa UK visa! Gusto ko sana iwasan yung crowd. ?
Yes you need to include a prepaid return envelope in your transmission!
Hi Bino, question lang. Isa sa pwedeng isubmit daw is Bank Draft in a convertible currency. Pwede ba any amount ang i-purchase kong bank draft o kailangan full balance ng account ko? Para namang weird non dahil mauubos ang savings ko at mapupunta lahat sa bank draft. Please enlighten me. Thank you!
Hi – not familiar with the bank draft method. Sorry, can’t help there.
hello. I would like to ask for your help so I can get my tourist visa. please email me back so I can explain further. Thank you.
Hello we have plan to get tour (my family four persons and one of my sister) to visit my brother in Canada.
What are the requirements? Do we need individual letter invitation or group letter invitation. ?
What are the 1st step need to do.
Hi there. The requirements for tourist visa are stated in the blog post. I am sorry but I am not familiar with the specifics on the LOI.
Hi Bino, I applied for a TRV online, successfully submitted and confirmed (via email and in my GC account) received by IRCC 09 Dec 2017. It is almost 2 months now and the status has not changed at all. As seen from my GC Account, application is still active and no final decision has yet been arrived at. There is no additional requirements being asked nor a personal appearance being required. Just wondering what is happening with the application.
Thanks!
Hi Robert, I wouldn’t know what is happening to your application. Maybe you can contact them?
Thanks a lot for your reply Bino. Is there a way to get in touch with them other than the GC Account. I tried their landline 8579000 but end up with instructions leading to their website (online). Thanks again.
Hi Bino,
Finally got an advise today to submit my passport for visa stamping. The problem? I’m flying to the U.S. on March 5, barely a week from today! How long does it usually take to get the passport back?
Thanks
Hi Robert,
Would just like to share my experience, I got my passport with Visa after 2 business days at VFS Office.
Oct 26 – Submitted my original passport @ VFS Office in Makati (paid 537php for logistic fee)
Oct 27 – Checked myCIC account and the status has been set to Closed, and Final Decision is “Approved”.
Oct 28 – I picked-up my passport with Visa counterfoil. (I also got Multiple entry).
All the best!
Can you please share more details of your story? It would be very much appreciated. Thank you!
Hi Bino, correction…. should be “09Dec2016”
Thanks
Hi Bino,
My aunt has invited me together with my mom and my sister to visit. I’d just like to ask if we need to submit separate applications online or I could submit in my sister and mom’s behalf? I will pay for our plane tickets but other expenses will be shouldered by them. For our accommodation, my aunt has stated in her invitation that we will be staying with her during our visit.
Thanks in advance!

Hi Nic, the link to CIC Website is actually indicated in Bino’s post above. Anyway, here it is: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/e-services/mycic.asp
Sign up for a GCKey by clicking ‘Continue to GCKey’. Since this is an online application, you just have to submit softcopy of your documents (e.g PDF Files), no interview.
Once you already have a GCKey, choose Apply for a Visitor Visa, then you will need to answer set of questions to obtain Personal Reference Code. Once done, there you’ll see the list of required documents you need submit.
All the best!
Hi! My passport will expire on Jan 24, 2018. I plan on submitting my requirements online this week. My travel dates would be on June 13-27, 2017. Do I still need to renew for a new passport? But the problem is, it would take me another month to get my new passport. Thanks.
No need. Your travel date is still more than 6 months from passport expiry.
Thank you for your help! I submitted by application last April 12 and got a message today to submit my passport together with the passport request letter. I’ve read in your blog that I need to send a manager’s cheque together with the passport but the passport request letter does not indicate that we need to include one. How would I know if how much will I send? Thanks
Hi Kristine! Did you apply online? How did you get your IMM5257 validated?
Hi Cherish! yes, we applied online. Once you’ve finished filling out the form, there is this blue box at the bottom with the word VALIDATE. Just click it and there will be another page added to the form with barcodes in it.
Mine says that it is validated but no bar codes are generated. What version of adobe reader did you use? Did you open in in internet explorer or directly on adobe? I’m having trouble with mine. If you don’t mind kindly send me your downloaded form, maybe the one I downloaded is faulty.
cherishrillera@yahoo.com
Thank you!
Hi Kristine! Did you apply with a family member (husband)? Did you apply separately or did you submit 2 applications in one account online? Cause my husband and I are planning to get a visa and I just don’t know if we must apply separately.
Thank you!
Hi Bino, it’s me again. Can you send me a sample of your cover letter? Just want to see it and hopefully I could get some ideas if that’s okay with you? Thanks!
Hi Bino, tanong ko lang my passport will expire on March 2018 and I’m planning to apply this May
does that affect kung ilang months or years yung validity nung visa na ibibigay nila? like hindi ba sya katulad yung sa US visa na 10 years na multiple entry? thanks.
Hi, some people get single entry with short validity. Max that they give is until the expiry of your passport assuming the applicant qualifies for it.
hi! bino
i will be planning to visit canada this coming december until january, so, basically i will be spend my Christmas and new year in canada.
invitation letter is not a problem at all. a good friend of mine will sponsor both ticket and accommodation when i get there.
my concern is what if i only have like 20,000 in my bank account and will submt a statement in VFS. would that be possible for approval.
i am also currently working. (our plan actually is to get married when i get there for 2 weeks. so when i get back in the philippines will process next the permanent visa).
best regards!
Hello, Denz! My suggestion is you increase your money in your account. 20,000 is too low especially you are planning to stay from December to January. Your partner can provide accommodation. But him paying for your airfare and almost all your expenses is not a good sign. The goal in getting a TRV is to convince the Visa officer that you have strong ties here in the Philippines and your financial standing is good too. Show that you can fund your trip. If you plan to stay for two weeks, your account should have, at the least, around 3,500 CAD. 🙂
Hi Sir, i just want to ask, me & my family are planning to visit Canada this June 2017, for my sister’s graduation. This would be our first time applying for this one. My question is, is it okay if I let my eldest sister to write an invitation letter for us? She’s a permanent resident in Canada. She migrated there just this April this year. My problem is the span of time she stayed in the country(Canada), it’s for 2 months yet. Is this enough to have our visas approved? And also, I have researched & learned that you have to submit also your family assets. My question is, what scope of these family assets do we need to submit? (Is it the houses/cars we owned?)
You’re reply would mean so much!
Thank you!
Regards,
Jamie
My fiancee (a philippines citizen, applying for PR) and I are getting married in October and we want to try to get her brother here so he can walk her down the aisle, her family hasnt seen her in 2 years and she has zero family members in canada. He will be here for 3 weeks and staying with us. I am a born and raised canadian and can prove that I have the means to supports him ect. I will be writing a letter explaining all this.
My question is, he is only 22 and is in school. He will be taking time out of his semester for this trip. He does not have a job there as he is in school and he does not own any land or houses. This is going to be a problem isnt it? He has never travelled outside of philippines. How do we prove that he is going back?
She is going to be heart broken if she doesn’t have any family here for our wedding. I have a feeling that he might get denied and it is going to devastate her. Please let me know what to expect.
Hi Bino! I’ve been reading your thread and it seems that I’m the only one having trouble with my IMM5257 getting validated. I’ve used Adobe but no bar codes were generated when it was validated. What do I do? thank you.
HI SIR,
if i may ask, what does it mean when the status of application is “processing payment”? i paid through credit card, does it really take time before payment will confirm?
Hello Sir!
I would like to take a trip or a vacation to Canada to visit my cousin who is a permanent resident there and of course to experience the ambiance and the beauty of the country. Also if I became lucky, I can search for a job applicable to my qualifications and apply for it when I returned to the Philippines.
I am one of the faculty members in one of the universities here in the Philippines and I cannot just leave the country within July – March so April – June is the best months for me to travel.
What is the minimum days of stay that I am possible to apply for a tourist visa and how many months will it take to process the papers and the approval of the officers upon my application.
Hi Bino, such an informative blog,
I am now on my way of applying for Visitor’s Visa. My plan is to do it off-line by submitting the actual documents. I have been constantly talking to an agency who will help along the way. My question is, is it required to show my relative’s bank statement (3 months)? My auntie has her own business there and she does not have an employer. to prove that she has the capacity to pay all my expenses, I need to submit the Bank Statement, is that really essential???
HI i would like to share my sisters application via paper submission. She was refused after two weeks of waiting. the reason are travel history and second financial status (but she has nearly 350k in her bank account). Could anyone please advise what to do to solidify the application of my sister?
HI i would like to share my sisters application via paper submission. She was refused after two weeks of waiting. the reason are travel history and second financial status (but she has nearly 350k in her bank account). Could anyone please advise what to do to solidify the application of my sister?
Try to beef up the travel history. Maybe she hasn’t traveled much? Suggest going to some visa-free countries first as tourist before applying for the canada visa.
Yup, I agree on Bino. My application was approved last year. I only travelled to Bangkok, Thailand months prior.
Also, you can try online application, it’s more convenient. All the best!
Much easier if online application why don’t she try this option?
Hi good day ! Me, my husband & 2 kids ( ages 15 & 13 ) are planning apply for a Canadian tourist visa. Do i need to scan/submit also my husband’s travel history/visa, & other pertinent documents ( ITR,employment,bank statement, etc ) ?
Hi Golda, Is your husband also applying for the visa? If yes then by all means these are standard requirements for the application.
In 2014 I applied for a Visitor’s Visa for my son. I remember having paid in peso using a Peso to CAD dollar conversion rate I found in the CICS website. However, when I inquire now, I do not get the conversion rate. Help please.
Hi Bino, I’m about to send my passport to VAC coz we got the letter requesting the passport. I just want to know if i need to pay the the service charge for application handling or only the secure transition of pasaport? or both? please let me know asap. Thank you so much
Hi, it depends if your application was done thru VAC or online. If online, you just need to pay for secure transition of passport.
Hi Bino,
I applied for a visa application for Canada and submitted all the requirements needed. I also got a receipt saying that my application is approved. However, I have not received any emails or updated in my account. When I opened my account, it still says not submitted. And wants me to pay again? I am just wondering what status should I say once I paid and submitted all my applications. Will it still say not submitted until the office opens my file? It’s been 9 days already.
Thanks for the reply. May I ask where did you attach your cover letter? Was it in the “Letter of Explanation”? Thanks again.
Hi Bino, Im planning to apply for a Canada Visa as a family (Me and my husband and our 6 adult children) online. We have an existing business and all of us are stockholders. Do I need to attach all the same Business documents to each of us? Thanks so much!
I applied individually. Apologies I am not familiar with family/group applications.
Hi Julia,
Did you send your application as a family? Or individually? If so, you are the only one that submitted the proof of financial records, right? Thank you.
Hi Bino, thanks for the reply. Yes, I am the only one submitting the proof of financial records. By the way, By the way, when is the best time to apply for the Visa if we plan to travel by October, 2017 and May, 2018?
Hi julia, any update sa apply nyo po? If so, magkano po binayad nyo for visa fee? Is it CAD100 per person or CAD 500 for family visa (5 persons or more)?
By the way, we will be the one to spend for all the expenses of our children in Canada. Thanks!
Hi po maam!! Same po tayo paano po ginawa nyo? Nag attach po ba kyo ng requirements para sa mga anak nyo?
Yes Maam Cille nag attach ako ng Bank Cert at Employment Cert. We were already approved.
Hi sir Bino.I like yourblog.I read some of the mesages there.I want to ask po If my friend in Canada can procees my visitor visa or I should apply in person. My friend is a Canadian…
Hello, Gladys! Did you apply already? You will be the one who will process your TRV. Your Canadian friend can help by providing you an invitation letter if you will stay with him or her during your trip to Canada. 🙂
Hi sir, I am currently working here in HK for almost 7 years now as a DH.
I wanted to visit Canada probably next year.
My question is: How and where to apply for visitors visa?..Your help is very much appreciated. Thank you.
Hi Vilma, you’ll need to apply where you are residing at the moment. If it’s in HK then you’ll have to apply in the Canadian consulate there. Now is still too early to apply though if you intend to visit next year.
Hi Bino, I was wondering if i could apply for a Canadian Visa even if i dont have a definite date of departure yet. The reason is that I wanted the visa to be available anytime i encounter a ticket sale promo. Hope you could help thanks
Yes definitely. The plane ticket – as you may have read from my post – is not required.
hi… is it true hat you can only pay the visa fee online and not on the embassy?
Hello, Belle! Yes. I called VFS Makati last month and they said that all payments now are done via online. 🙂
Hi Sir,
My Tourist VISA is already approved. Do you have any idea if they still do a follow-up checking of the submitted documents upon departure?
No need. But upon arriving in Canada, the immigration officer may ask questions such as where you plan to go, hotels you may stay in and the duration of your stay.
Hello, Bino and everyone here! First, just want to thank this blog because it helped me when I was preparing my application for TRV. Second, let me share my timeline in applying for TRV. 🙂
July 21 – I submitted my documents and passport to VFS Makati
July 24 – My application was endorsed to Canaa Visa Office in Makati
July 25 – I successfully linked my paper application online via MyCic account
August 1 – I received an e-mail from CIC saying that my application has been updated; I opened my account and there I saw that my application was approved and the Counterfoil Document Number was indicated
August 2 – My documents and processed passport were sent back to VFS Makati
August 4 – I picked up my documents and passport with stamped visa. Expiration is until the expiration of my passport as well.
Good luck to everyone who applied and will still apply 🙂
I am now here in Canada and be back to Philippines very soon. I applied for a temporary resident visa and I was granted a single visa. My question is, can I apply again for another visa, a multiple visa if possible when I get back to Philippines? My friend told me that I should be at least 6 months after I came back that I can apply for a visa again. Is it true?
My next question is how to apply for a multiple visa?
Hello, Misty! For your single entry visa, how many weeks are you staying in Canada?
Yes, you can re-apply. I don’t think CIC has a rule that you have to wait for 6 months to re-apply. All applications now are considered for Multiple Entry that’s why there is only one fee, which is CAD 100. It is the visa officer who will decide if they will give you a Single or Multiple Entry based on the documents you submitted. 🙂
Hi Bino,
I am applying for Tourist Visa in Canada and I would like to seek some help in making a cover letter? Could you help me on this, please? The main purpose of my travel is to attend the wedding of my cousin and of course to visit my relatives and experience some beautiful sights there.
Thanks in advance 🙂
Hello, Robert! Just want to share the details I put on my cover letter. On first paragraph, I introduced myself, my work, when I intend to visit Canada, the purpose of my travel and what are the places I want to see while in Canada.
Second paragraph, I talked about my previous travels and that I have not violated any of the conditions of my stay during my trips abroad. Then I mentioned when I plan to immediately travel back to the Philippines after my visit in Canada.
Third paragraph, here, I listed all the reasons why there is no way I will overstay in Canada. Such as, my entire family reside in the Philippines; I am paying the amortization of my car until 2021; and I also have a booked trip in November to Vietnam, Cambodia and Bangkok so I attached my confirmed booking details.
Last paragraph, I mentioned that I will shoulder the costs for airfare, food and pocket money, but my accommodations will be fully provided by my Uncle and Aunt. I also stated my sources of fund and the assurance that I will have sufficient fund to support my stay in Canada.
Hope this helps. 🙂
Thanks! This helps a lot. I hope I get approved and please wish me good luck 🙂
Goodluck, Robert! I believe in the power of cover letter ha ha. The main objective of your letter and documents is to show the visa officer that you have a good life in your home country and stable employment 🙂
Yeah, u r right! Thanks again. I have submitted my application and I wish I get approved. I will send u an update about this 🙂
Goodluck, Robert! 🙂
Hi Sir Bino,
I already got a multiple entry visa and I want to know what if I have a new employer, how do I update the info contained in my visa?
Thanks!
Hi Pia, if it’s just for a tourist visa you don’t need to update the embassy whenever you change your employer.
Thanks Sir Bino!
Hi Bino!
Is a Canadian tourist visa the same with a US tourist visa? Would it still be valid if you renew your passport before the expiry of your visa? Cause I need to renew my passpirt before I travel to Canada. TIA.
Hello, Joanne! Yes, the visa is still valid. Just bring the old passport with the visa when you travel to Canada 🙂
Thank you for the reply! God bless.

Hello, Paul Jake! Walang effect. The CIC does not even encourage na magpa book na agad ng tickets. What you can provide is the flight schedule ng kung anong airline ang sasakyan mo and intended date of arrival and departure.
What’s your work and gaano katagal ka na sa job mo? Ilang weeks mo plan mag stay sa Canada and what is the purpose of your travel?
Honestly, saying that your uncle will support your travel is a red flag for CIC. Kasi for them if tourist ka dapat ikaw ang gumastos for yourself. Your uncle can provide accommodations 🙂
Hi po pano po pag managers cheque payment for visa fees kanino po iadress? Tnx po
Hello, CILLe! Visa fees are only paid through online. The manager’s cheques are for VFS service fee if you plan to apply through them. But even if you apply through VFS, the payment of visa fee is still online 🙂
Hi po , if dependent children are 20 and 23 years old need pa po ba nila ng requirements for financial support? Tnx po
Your children are still students? If they are, then provide their school documents and indicate on your letter that you will be the one paying for their expenses on your trip to Canada. Hence, you will be the one to provide the financial documents 🙂
Not student. 23 yrs old is working na meron n yan itr and payslip , 20 yrs old is working n din pero sa business lng nmin no payslip assistant lng sya ng father nya. Tnx sa reply.
Hi bino!! Ask ko lng po if managers cheque ang payment for visa fees kanino po iaadress ang cheque? Thank you.
Ah ok. For the 23-year old, pwede niya i-provide COE, ITR, payslips, bank statement and certificates and leave form niya. For the 20-year old you can mention na he is working sa family business 🙂
Hi Bino! I don’t know if you can still read this but I am really hoping for a reply. I applied online and I also applied for my mom, meaning, I will be her representative and we’re using my MyCiC account. Regarding the forms, how are we supposed to sign it? Application forms should not be printed since there is an electronic signature but how about the other forms like the Family details and family representative forms? Do we print, sign, and scan it? I’m really confused. Please help.
Hello, Maria Victoria! Yes, the Family Information Form must be printed, signed and scanned. I think same with the Representative Form. 🙂
Hi KS! Thank you so much for the reply. It really helped a lot. I’ve been so confused and nervous because one wrong move might cause a delay or rejection of visa application and I do not want to risk that. Anyway, how about my mother’s application form? How will she sign it electronically?
No worries! I did not apply online but based on my research you have to merge the files per category. In the case or your Mom, just validate it then once all the files are uploaded and merged, I think at the end you will just click a button then that will electronically sign her application 🙂
Oh, alright. Can I print the Family Info and Family Representative Forms in any kind of bond paper or is there a required type of paper?
Hi Bino,
I applied for Canada visa 3 months ago and got denied. They point out my personal asset and purpose of travel is the issue. Did you submit a bank draft in convertable currency and pay stubs? i have a problem finding that hope you can help me thanks.
Hello, John! What documents did you submit to show that you can afford the trip? And what was the purpose of your travel?
In my case, I provided Leave Form, 4-month bank statements, bank certificate, 4-month paystubs, 3-year ITRs and car registration 🙂
The purpose is to attend a in-house workshop for 1 month in Montreal, Quebic. it’s an artist studio not a University to school. I submitted some bank statement, employment letter, proof of payment of tuition. My friend said maybe the type of visa is the problem.
The website ask “What would you like to do in Canada? I picked study instead of visiting. “Have you been accepted to a designated learning institution?” I write yes instead of No. My friend said that thier workshop doesnt count as study but instead tourist/visitor.
After I edit the cic questionniare my list of requirements became short. example: Purpose of visit, transcript of records and letter of acceptance was removed. My only problem now is how can I make Proff of means of financial support right.
Im the president of our company should I still submit an employee letter, pay stub, and bank draft convirtabke currency?
Oh ok. Yes, I think your answers in the form affected your application. Just make it as pure tourism and limit the requested stay to 2 weeks. They say that asking for a month of stay shows weak ties to home country, so limit the request to 2 weeks. Paystubs and itinerary for your 2-week stay will be good addition. It’s like showing the visa officer that you will go to Canada because of tourism. 🙂
But art workshop im attending is 30 days in-house with free accommodation and 3 meals a day.
Thank you KS. I think my Visa application was approved because they sent me a letter stating that “we require your passport to finalize processing your application”.
When going to VAC in person is it ok to place my passport, request letter, and cash in 1 brown envelope?
On the VFSglobal website there are lots of service charge to choose. which one should i choose if i go in person?
Thanks
Oh I did not submit a bank draft 🙂
@John, that’s ok because once your application is approved, the visa that will be given to you can either be a Single-entry or Multiple entry. In both cases you can stay more than 2 weeks in Canada. But that is still subject to the officer at the airport upon your entry. They are the ones who will really determine until when you can stay in Canada. If they will not put any stamp on your passport, that means you can stay up to 6 months 🙂
@Maria Victoria, based on CIC website the paper must be white, bond-quality, non-glossy paper. When I applied I just printed them all in an A4 paper found in our office ha ha. 🙂
Thank you so much KS! This will be our first time to apply for a visa and travel abroad and I am really hoping for the best. Thanks a lot!
Goodluck, Maria Victoria and to your Mom! Canada is also my first visa country to visit. Most of my travels are only here in South East Asia. What is the purpose of your trip and how many weeks will you request? 🙂
For tourism. I included in the cover letter that we will only stay there for 10 days during the summer vacation. Was your visa approved on your first try? I really hope ours will be approved. Can you give me advice?
I also requested for 10 days only. Yes, I was given a multiple entry visa until 2022. It took only 7 days to process and I applied via VFS since I felt like I will have a hard time doing it online ha ha.
Will you and your Mom stay in a relative’s house? Providing a cover letter is good. I did that as well. If you plan to go summer next year, I think it is too early for you to apply. They say 3 months before the intended departure is the timeline. But if you feel that you will be given a multiple entry visa then go ahead with the early application. 🙂
Your and your Mom’s bank account must show at least 1,000 CAD per week of stay. Accommodations and airfare not included. So you have to add the price of the airfare, which could be around 1,ooo-1,500 CAD.
We do not have any relatives in Canada and we are planning to stay in a hotel for 10 days. I actually included the screenshot of our prospective flight and hotel accomodation hoping that it will make our cover letter stronger. We are applying early because we want to catch cheap flights and cheap hotel bookings hahahaha so maybe I can also include that in our cover letter?
For the budget, we are planning to allot at least 2400 CAD each with a total of 4800 CAD. That includes the flight and hotel bookings, meals, transportation to and from our selected destinations, other miscellanous fees and for buying souvenirs. Do you think 4800 CAD would be enough for our 10 days vacation?
Oh ok. No need for the screenshot. Just put in your cover letter where do you plan to stay and the possible flight you intend to take. Yes, you can note in the cover letter why you are applying early. And since you do not have relatives in Canada, it will also help if you are going to explain why you choose Canada for your first visa country to visit. I mean, the officer might think “Why not Japan or South Korea” since these countries are near to us.
Include also your and your Mom’s travel history for the past 5 years. This will show the officer that you and your Mom are travelers. 🙂
2,400 CAD each is a bit low. If you will include the airfare, you must at least show 3,000 CAD for the 10-day stay. This is what I did, I also submitted a 10-day itinerary where I showed there all my would-be expenses from airfare, food and tourist attractions I want to visit. I put the amount in Php and CAD. Accommodation and transportation are free because I will stay in my Aunt’s place. The purpose of this itinerary is to show that your expected expenses will be covered by the money in your bank account. 🙂
Thank you so much for the help and the advice! I will follow those things and I know that we don’t know each other personally but it will be a big help if you would include us in your prayers. This trip means a lot to my mother and I’ve been doing my best just so I could make her happy. Again, thank you KS! Let’s hope for the best! 😊
I will. Take your time in preparing your application. Read successful stories on Canada Visa Forum so you will get an idea what the others submitted to get the approval of the visa officer. Good luck and God bless. 🙂
Hi KS! I have another question. Is a common-law partner same with a boyfriend or a fiancé? It’s quite confusing. My Filipino fiancé is actually one of my ties here in the Philippines because we’re planning to get married by next year and he’s not coming with me and my mom during our visit in Canada. What documents do you think I can provide to prove that I will be back here so that we can proceed with the wedding?
In Canada, common law refers to two persons living in a conjugal relationship for at least one year and continuous. So if you and your fiance’ are not living together, then you are not common law partner in the eyes of Canada Immigration. If you have documents proving that you will be wed next year like church or venue reservation that will help. But if none, you can just mention that on your cover letter plus if you have work then discuss if you have obligations in your company that you need to finish. The main objective of the cover letter is to convince the visa officer that you and your Mom will not overstay in Canada. 🙂
What are the necessary documents to prove that we can finance ourselves? Since we are applying for a visitor visa for the pure purpose of travelling and sightseeing, is it possible to show our travel loans?
Hi, Bino. Thank you for your very informative post.
I clicked on the link for online application and I was brought to the page that was making me choose: Sign-in Partner and GCKey. I got lost. I have most of the requirements ready already.
I found this link online (of the application form). May I fill it up, print it and then submit it? How do I get the barcode?
Do I need to fill up common-law form if I am married?
THANK YOU!!!
Hello, Dindin! You have to click “Continue to GCKey” to create an account.
The application form must not be printed. You have to fill it out electronically then at the end click the “Validate” button. It will generate the barcode at the last page.
No. Common-law are for partners who are not married but living as husband and wife for one year straight. 🙂
Hi po ask ko lng if gagawan ko ng affidavit of financial support ang 2 adult anak ko di na ba nila kailangan ng bank cert.?ako ung principal ok lng ba na ilagay ko ang name ng family member ko sa affidavit of financial support? Tnx.
Yes if they will be dependent on you for all the expenses. However, I remember you have a 23-year old son who is also working? It might help if he will still show his bank statements and then explain in the cover letter that aside from his money, he will also use your money for additional support, thus the Affidavit of Financial Support 🙂
YEs po. Pag sa online application pala principal lang ang hinihingian ng requirements. Then lahat ng family member ang hinihingi lng passport , digital photo 5257, and family information. Then optional ang explanation letter.🙂
I get stuck with the “My Information” page. It’s where email address is asked and “Preferred Language of Notification” and “I would like to receive monthly updates about my application” are… then, I press update. And it goes back to the same page.
@Maria Victoria, you mean you applied for loan so you can travel? 🙂
Yes 🙂
Oh ok, so I would assume you deposited all the money in your bank account? If that’s the case just explain on your cover letter where did you get the money and that you have the obligation to pay it monthly until when. 🙂 As much as possible CIC does not want a sudden huge amount of money to be deposited in one’s account but if you can explain where the money came from, that will be good.
Will do. Thank you so much!
Do you think it will lessen our chance to have a visitor visa?
I am not very sure. Do you have savings? Money besides the amount you loaned?
This is useful I’ve got my visa for only 2 weeks.
Thank you very much, Bino!
My problem was solved! I tried accessing the application form using the PC in the office. Application, documents and payment done in 30 minutes. I also received emails regarding receipt of application and payment.
Your article on this helped a lot.
Additional note: If you have more than one file for travel history, financial support and relationship, you need to put them altogether in one file. I put them all on one page (Photoshop) then flattened it. Saved as .jpg to lower down file size.
Hello, John! Congratulations to you. Yes, just bring your passport and letter. I think VFS has their own envelope for that. I am not sure what exact fee you are going to pay but if you want your passport to be delivered to your home then you have to pay the courier’s fee. 🙂
has anyone applied in october 2017 online? it has been two weeks and there’s no update yet. the waiting game sucks
Applied on 8th sep no update since then VAC Abudhabi wondering what is happening processing time frame is 35 days which is over already long ago
Hi Sir,
I saw your post regarding on how you acquired your tourist visa in 2 weeks. My question is, can my parents submit their application package through registered mail at the VAC in Makati? And what are the service charges they need to include with their application aside from the paid Visa fee from IRCC? I hope you can help me with this matter.
Thank you.
Kind regards,
Jennifer
Hi,
Just a question, the email notif that you received when you got approved, did you log in to your GCKey account to check the actual approval email or sa yahoo/gmail email palang naka state na if it was approved?
Thank you. I got a notif today but couldn’t access my GCkey account because i got locked it. Anxiety is real!!
Hello, Mico! You need to access your GCKey account to know if your application is approved or not. I think there are steps you can follow in order to access your account again. 🙂
Alright that is noted. I submitted my application Wednesday night and hopefully id get the results in the next 3 days. Do we have the option to physically bring the passport pick It up. Or everything has to be done via mail?
Appreciate your reply
Yes. You can go to VFS personally to submit your passport for visa stamping and pick it up as well personally or you can do both via a courier. 😊
Thank you! My visa got approved but it took them 2 weeks to give me a decision prolly coz of the holidays but submitted mine on 12/13/17 got a passport request on 12/27/17 & got my passport back on 1/4/17.
My partner submitted his applicatio 12/28/17 and got a passport request today lol. Weird though they sent him the passport request but the final decision still says pending i guess the peson who reviewed it forgot to update. Thanks for this post though. Twas very very helpful
Hi KS!
I need your advise. I am planning to visit Canada for tourist for a week only this April 2018. I have everything, from work to assets to bank accounts except for one thing, I have never traveled before, even to Asian countries. Canada will be my first country to visit. What’s the chance that I can get for an approved visa? Cause reading these comments make me lose hope since everyone who got their visa approved has a travel history. What’s the possibility that I will get approved even if I don’t have travel history? Thanks so much!
Hello, Rea! Why Canada? Do you have family there? If you haven’t travelled anywhere yet and you really wanted to go to Canada this April, it might help if you will add a cover letter in your application telling why you want to visit Canada first instead of other countries that are near to the Philippines. You can also explain in the cover letter why you have no travel history yet. Are you going to pay everything for this trip? 😊
hi Sir, please enlighten me, if i had a huge chance to get a visitor visa to Canada, i already submitted my application thru CIC, and my Godmother the one who invited me to Toronto,i already take medical exam, im currently working in Dubai, i had 1,000 canadian dollars in my account and my godmother will also finance over my stay there. yearly ticket is provided by my company, and my travel history is only going back home to Philippines yearly.
what you think, is this are strong reason to possible for them to grant my application, also is this is assurance to them that i will come back here in Dubai because i still have contract here.
Many thanks and Regards,
Anne
Hi there, I am applying online for my parents, in for the invitation letter do I need to have signature with including my husband?
Hello, Rose! Yes. If they will be staying with you and your husband then the invitation letter should be signed by both of you. 😊
Hi! My wife and I were invited by Manitoba for an exploratory visit. I am currently unemployed. Will it affect my application for a visit visa eventhough we have a letter of invitation from the government of Manitoba?

I have $1000 in my bank account an d i am currently working as a staff nurse. As of now, i am planning to visit/travel to Hongkong 1st before starting to process my visa papers.
Is it ok tobpay an agency to process my visa papers? Is true that the console/embassy in Canada will not interview me personally?
Pls. Reply or send your comments in my e mail add..

Hi, po 🙂 I really wanted to go to Toronto and visit my Filipino childhood best friend there but I’m afraid of visa rejection/refusal 😭 they won’t sponsor my trip and my parents would be the one to shoulder my expenses who are both an OFW before but they have already retired and were currently unemployed. I am currently in my 3rd year of college and have no job as of the moment.
My questions are How much show money should I have? Will they approve my visa upon seeing my approved US visa even tho it wasn’t used? Is my stamped Korean visa and Taiwan visa are also applicable to be scanned?
Thanks. Your help really means a lot

Hi Alex,
Yes you can include in the Invitation Letter (in a single PDF or Word doc) all the mentioned attachments. That’s what we did when we applied last 2016 to attend my cousin’s wedding.
Hope your application gets approved this time.
All the best!
-Chris
Thanks for the reply chris, i really appreciate it.. yes hopefully this time she will get approved.. i heard its hard to apply for a sister especially if shes single but she will only accompany my parents since they are both old and not familiar in travelling.. crossed fingers😊.. thanks again.

Got My Multiple Entry Visa
I got denied three times before, twice in 2016, and one in 2017. All with sponsors capable to support my finances while staying in Canada.
*1st application I ask for 6 months to stay ( my partner is my sponsor) – they said not enough funds and travel history, not convinced that I am going back when visa expires.
*2nd application – me and my partner travel to Thailand for 6 weeks – Verdict, not enough funds and not convinced that I am going back.
*3rd application – sponsored by my Aunt (2017) – verdict same as 2nd application….:-(
*4th application – (NO SPONSOR) July 2018 – Got approved with multiple entry visa based on my passport expiration date.:-) from the date of submission at VFS it only takes 13 days including saturday and sunday.
I filled up the same forms as usual,
submit a proof of funds – self employed-
DTI, Business Permit, Monthly water analysis (just few copies)
ITR
Hotel Bookings
Flight Ticket ( did not purchase but made a reservation at the travel agency for 500 pesos
assets ( car registration, property)
Travel History ( thailand, Sokor, Japan, Bali)
I only declared 3 weeks of stay based on my funds. (Bino’s advice at least 100 canadian dollars/day
Bino’s blog is been helpful for people who seeks advice in applying for visa. He’s been so accommodating answering all my queries.
I hope shaing my experience will help in some ways. Thank you and good luck in your upcoming application.
Hi Ms Mela, how long is your business running? is it a factor if you just opened your business and you submitted the application?
Hi Malyn, I started my business January of 2017.. So it’s lije 1 and half year already.
I think its also a factor. Because my application at that time had been denied. And also I started travelling that time.
Hello anyone who can help me? We applied as a family (6 pax) last Nov 1, 2018. My husband was the principal applicant and we were already approved and requested to send our passports. I plan to send our passports via courier. Here are my questions:
1) Am I correct to only pay for the package transmission (P392.00/pax) and 1one-way courier service (P312.00/pax)?
2) Can I submit all our passports in one mail envelope only? Or do I need to individually mail our passports and service fees?
2) Can I send only one (1) Manager’s check for the total amount of the Package transmission and courier service for all of us (6 pax) and enclose it with our passports? Or do I need to send two (2) separate Manager’s checks for the Package transmission and courier service?
Help anybody please?
Thank you!
