17 Best Christmas Log Cakes Singapore 2024 For Delivery & Takeaway

Desserts are an essential part of any festive dinner table and no other sweet treat is more evocative of the Christmas season than log cakes. Dessert chefs are known to be very competitive by rolling out highly creative pastries each year. It might still be quite early for Christmas but a few bakers in Singapore have already started rolling out their log cake selections for 2024.

This year, many establishments are consolidating their log cake offerings. For instance, I see fewer of the fancier/exotic flavors and many hotels have reverted to offering only their bestselling flavors. Many are also reducing the number of flavors in their repertoire to just 1 or 2 whereas they had offered 5 or more in past years.

Without further ado, here is the list for the year – I will update it as and when more brands come online with their offerings.

Baker’s Brew

Taste the quintessential embodiment of Christmas this year with log cakes from Baker’s Brew. This year’s flavor is the Blackforest Yule Log Cake (S$50.80 for 19cm cake / S$78.80 for 30cm cake). Pinch Bakehouse is a halal-certified offshoot of the popular Bob the Baker Boy and offers customizable cakes through its online store. For Christmas, they are offering the Chocolate Log Cake (S$59.90) which can be ordered as a standalone item or as a bundle along with the likes of a Mini Christmas Brownie Tree, cupcakes and more. The cake comes with a soft and pillowy chocolate sponge and silky mousse wrapped in a layer of luscious chocolate frosting. It is available in 2 sizes – 500 grams and 1kg, allowing for pocket-friendly options for those on a budget.

For fruity options, check out the Blueberry Yogurt Christmas Train (S$90). I have personally tried this cake and I love how the blueberry compote complements the cotton-like vanilla sponge and blueberry yogurt mousse. Alternatively, they are also offering the Pistachio Raspberry Rose Log Cake (S$90). Personally, I found this to be wonderful indulgence with its alternating layers of delicate pistachio sponge cake, vibrant raspberry confit, raspberry cremeux, and velvety mousse infused with subtle fragrance of rose. This is sure to be a hit with kids as well.

*Top Pick* Shangri-la Singapore continues to pull out all the stops with its Christmas offering for 2024, with perhaps what is the most complete type of Christmas desserts one can imagine – from log cakes to panettones, gingerbread houses and even holiday piñatas. Specific to log cakes, they are offering 3 types – the Grandma Chocolate Log Cake (S$90), Triple Truffle Crunchy Log Cake (S$90) and Snow White (S$88). The latter consists of smooth yogurt and white chocolate Opalys whip ganache, complemented by a crunchy granola croustillant and a tangy very berries cremeux. I have personally tried their log cakes this year and found the chocolate log cake to be a good choice for chocolate lovers. But for something different, I would recommend the Snow White!

Allora at Crowne Plaza Changi Airport is offering 2 types of log cakes for Christmas this year, with a traditional one in the form of a White Chocolate Vanilla Log Cake (S$118) and a local-inspired Pandan Gula Melaka Log Cake (S$98). Both weigh 900 grams each with the former possessing a rich chocolate sponge layered with crispy white chocolate feuilletine and raspberry compote and creameux encased in a luscious vanilla white chocolate mousse. The latter is a blend of pandan sponge and rich gula melaka layered with coconut mousse and topped with shredded coconut.

Their log cakes weigh between 750 to 900 grams, depending on the flavor, and are good for 5 to 8 persons. For this size, these are among the cheapest branded log cakes I’ve encountered this year, with prices starting from just S$49.60 and additional discounts if you spend S$45 or more.
