Viva Vancouver (Part 2)

Oct. 22 (Saturday): The forecasters had predicted that it was going to rain the entire day. Were they wrong! However, it was a little cloudy. Not that good for taking pictures but it beats rainy weather anytime. Because I slept late the other night, I woke up a bit later that morning. I decided to go to Capilano Suspension Bridge, which is in North Vancouver. I had to take the bus all the way to the terminal, the seabus to get across to North Vancouver plus another bus to get to the complex. The seabus ride was okay. The view of the city skyline was just majestic.

I arrived at the park at about 1, and paid the entrance of C$18.50 (US$16). The main highlight was this simple and rickety bridge so high up from the ground. It’s like one of those jungle bridges you see on TV. To actually be on one felt thrilling, especially since the bridge wobbled everytime someone walked on it. Apart from the bridge, the park also featured a forest trail and a couple of activities that were targeted at kids. I roamed for a couple more hours before heading out. The bus to the North Vancouver pier took 30 minutes to arrive. From there, I took the seabus again to downtown and from there, I took their rail transit, called SkyTrain to Commercial Drive. The street had a hippie and bohemian vibe in the vein of Haight-Ashbury. There were also some ethnic shops, restaurants as well as several dessert places. I decided to head back a bit earlier this time in order to prepare for a party that night.
