Make what you will about hotel minibars but there is no denying that having a selection of goodies and drinks in the comfort of one’s room, especially if it’s free, still brings a sense of delight (and convenience) to guests. In Singapore, a number of hotels take the notion of a standard minibar one notch higher by making it a free inclusion in the room. Here, I try to list out those hotels that provide this amenity, including my own experiences of the same. Surprisingly, this amenity is found across different tiers of lodging in Singapore – not just in luxury hotels but even in boutique hotels.
If you know of other Singapore hotels not listed here with free minibar, do let me know in the comments below!

The Clan Hotel
The Clan Hotel’s guestrooms all have free minibar but the hotel offers two tiers of refreshments. Guests staying in the Premier and Grand Premier rooms get a customized selection of snacks and refreshments which they can choose prior to check-in, on top of the standard free minibar inclusions.
All guestrooms at Capitol Kempinski Singapore get to have free non-alcoholic drinks in their minibar, regardless of room category. At the time of my stay, the complimentary drinks selection included sparkling water, coke, sprite and a few bottles of juices.
Novotel Singapore Stevens (reopening June 2022)
At Novotel Singapore Stevens, you will find the free minibar in both the Deluxe Room and Premium Room. Both room categories are of the same size – difference being that the Premium Room also comes with a coffee machine. At the time of my stay, I found the free minibar selection quite varied, consisting not just of the usual soft drinks but also juices, cans of beer, chips and even a bar of chocolate.
Orchard Rendezvous Hotel
At Orchard Rendezvous Hotel, the Deluxe Plus, Club Room, Suite Room and One Bedroom Deluxe Suite come with complimentary minibar. The free minibar offering is purely drinks-based and include both non-alcoholic and alcoholic options.
One of the things that Capella Singapore promises is complimentary non-alcoholic drinks in the minibar and guests can even choose the type of drinks they want inside the room. This can be relayed to the reservations team by email prior to check-in. I chose to have a selection of fresh orange, apple and pineapple juices which was brought to me promptly and was in addition to the chilled juices and softdrinks that were already inside the fridge.
At Shangri-la Singapore, rooms in their flagship Valley Wing come with free minibar. So far, this is the most generous complimentary minibar I have encountered in a hotel in Singapore even though the alcoholic drinks are not free. There were several bottles of juices and soft drinks provided and housekeeping had no qualms about topping up some of the drinks during evening turndown service.
I have stayed at the Andaz Singapore a couple of times and have encountered varying results with their free minibar. During my latest stay, I noted around 6 bottles of soft drinks including the Andaz Pale Ale. All their room categories come with the complimentary minibar.
Sofitel Singapore City Centre
Sofitel Singapore City Centre’s relatively modest minibar can be customized depending on guests’ needs. By default, beverages include local drinks but a quick call can summon the hotel’s inhouse robot or staff members to deliver other beverages such as soft drinks and juices. It is also worth noting that rooms from the second category (i.e. Luxury Premium Room and above) get to have the non-alcoholic drinks and snacks inside the minibar on a complimentary basis.
Concorde Hotel Singapore (reopening May 2022)
The Premier Club Room at Concorde Hotel Singapore comes with free minibar. At the time of my stay it included a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, a small can of chips and a bag of nuts. Aside from this category, other room types that come with free minibar at Concorde Hotel include the Premier Suite and the Opal Suite.
All rooms at Hotel Yan near Jalan Besar have free minibars. It actually surprised me to find complimentary minibars in the room given the relatively economical price point of the property. Nevertheless, the minibar was quite modest consisting of 2 cans of soft drink, a small bag of chips and some cookies.
The Scarlet Singapore
The Premium Room and all suites at The Scarlet Singapore come with free minibar. For a boutique hotel, I actually found their minibar inclusions quite generous. It included a number of canned drinks including 2 cans of beer, a few bag of chips including a relatively large bag of truffle potato chips as well as KitKat and Snickers.
