Make what you will about hotel minibars but there is no denying that having a selection of goodies and drinks in the comfort of one’s room, especially if it’s free, still brings a sense of delight (and convenience) to guests. In Singapore, a number of hotels take the notion of a standard minibar one notch higher by making it a free inclusion in the room. Here, I try to list out those hotels that provide this amenity, including my own experiences of the same. Surprisingly, this amenity is found across different tiers of lodging in Singapore – not just in luxury hotels but even in boutique hotels.
If you know of other Singapore hotels not listed here with free minibar, do let me know in the comments below!

Capella Singapore
One of the things that Capella Singapore promises is complimentary non-alcoholic drinks in the minibar and guests can even choose the type of drinks they want inside the room. This can be relayed to the reservations team by email prior to check-in. I chose to have a selection of fresh orange, apple and pineapple juices which was brought to me promptly and was in addition to the chilled juices and softdrinks that were already inside the fridge.

Shangri-la Singapore
At Shangri-la Singapore, rooms in their flagship Valley Wing come with free minibar. So far, this is the most generous complimentary minibar I have encountered in a hotel in Singapore even though the alcoholic drinks are not free. There were several bottles of juices and soft drinks provided and housekeeping had no qualms about topping up some of the drinks during evening turndown service.

Sofitel Singapore City Centre
Sofitel Singapore City Centre’s relatively modest minibar can be customized depending on guests’ needs. By default, beverages include local drinks but a quick call can summon the hotel’s inhouse robot or staff members to deliver other beverages such as soft drinks and juices. It is also worth noting that rooms from the second category (i.e. Luxury Premium Room and above) get to have the non-alcoholic drinks and snacks inside the minibar on a complimentary basis.

All rooms at Hotel Yan near Jalan Besar have free minibars. It actually surprised me to find complimentary minibars in the room given the relatively economical price point of the property. Nevertheless, the minibar was quite modest consisting of 2 cans of soft drink, a small bag of chips and some cookies.
