Review: The Green Market (TGM) at Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 2 – Best Priority Pass Lounge in Singapore

I’ll start by saying it – The Green Market (TGM) has got to be my favorite among all the pay-per-use lounges in Changi Airport. I have been coming here for almost 7 years now and it’s always a venue I look forward to before each flight.

The Green Market (TGM), which is located in Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 2, is managed by Plaza Premium Lounge which also has a network of lounges with the same name around the world. It differs from your usual lounges in the sense that it is styled more as a restaurant/cafe with only a dining chair setup. Unlike the Ambassador Transit Lounge which is also in Terminal 2, you won’t find any bathrooms inside (the nearest one is near the food court next door) nor is there a PC station to work from. That being said, where TGM lacks in terms of the conventional lounge setup, it more than makes up for it in the food department.

Access to this lounge is more in keeping with restaurants rather than airport lounges with a set number of hours – you access it as you order your meals there. Plenty of credit cards issued in Asia (including Citibank Premiermiles cards of some countries) also come with access to lounges of Plaza Premium including TGM. Otherwise, members of Priority Pass and Lounge Club are also able to access TGM with a special menu catered just for them – a selection of bento set meals that contain rice, soup, starter, main and even dessert. Do note that separate charges apply for alcohol. In the morning from 6AM to 10:30AM, TGM also has a special breakfast menu.

The attending staff will immediately ask for your food selection as soon as they swap your membership card upon entry. During my last visit, I opted for the Chicken Teriyaki Set.

The words “The Green Market”, a name they used prior to renovating in 2016, no longer appear in the lounge’s logo. Instead, this is now abbreviated to TGM. The interiors are now more in keeping with hip cafes, with interesting hanging light fixtures and arches over some tables by the wall. Even though TGM is not styled exactly as an airport lounge, I was relieved to find charging outlets in each table.

If you prefer not to eat on the dining tables, you can also opt to sit by the bar. Otherwise, there is also an elongated communal dining setup near the entrance.

The bento boxes at TGM are quite hearty affairs. My Chicken Teriyaki Set came with a bowl of rice, miso soup, a bit of california rolls, dumplings and even a side of fruit — these are on top of the chicken teriyaki itself. The food can’t be described as gourmet but it sure beats many other airport lounges out there.

Another one of my usual orders at TGM is the Korean Rice Cake and Dumpling Soup Set. If you prefer something hearty and warm, this is the dish to try. You get a large piping hot bowl of soup flavored with kimchi with strands of Kurobuta pork and rice cakes. It comes with gyoza on the side.

For sushi lovers, there’s the Sashimi Set which comes with Tuna, Salmon and Swordfish sashimi. It also comes with sauteed tuna and gyoza on the side plus a bowl of rice.

There seems to be a prevalence of Korean options as well at TGM. The Korean Mari Set is another item I usually order while here.

Overall, TGM is my go-to lounge in Changi Airport whenever I am feeling peckish. This is definitely not the place to go to if you need to get some documents printed or if you are terribly in need of a shower. For simple work over a laptop, the place is also decent with charging pods in each table. While the lounge can get a bit busy at times, I never found it totally full in the many times I’ve been there.
