Almost two years ago, I remember being enthralled by Hai Tien Lo’s promotion of claypot dishes which at the time was quite a steal. The good news is that this promotion is back. From 4th of June to 31st August, 2018; diners can avail of themselves of any two claypot dishes for S$38.80 from Sundays to Wednesdays during dinner. This promotion is quite good value as two claypot dishes can easily feed two people. White rice costs extra at S$1.80 per bowl.
A couple of days back, I managed to sample 11 out of the 24 new claypot dishes on offer. My personal favorites are the Claypot Pork Shoulder with Bell Peppers in Truffle Oil, Claypot Beef with Ginger Spring Onion in Superior Sauce and Claypot Roast Duck in Abalone Sauce. The dishes this year are a good mix between red meat, white meat, seafood and even vegetarian dishes. Of the 24 dishes, only two are from the original promotion dating from two years ago – Roasted Duck with Sea Cucumber in Abalone Sauce and the classic French Bean with Minced Pork and Preserved Vegetables.
