Managed by Harilela Hospitality, the Ambassador Transit Lounge at Changi Airport Terminal 2 is one of the oldest lounges in Changi Airport Terminal 2. It’s situated just across the Ambassador Transit Hotel and is known for having a business centre as well as a gym. As I needed to get some documents printed before my flight, I decided to check out this lounge.
The Ambassador Transit Lounge at Changi Airport Terminal 2 was renovated in December 2016. Prior to this, it wasn’t exactly the most inviting of airport lounges so I was curious to see what the new look is like.
You are greeted by this attractive hallway as you enter the lounge. Despite the inviting look, the lounge still keeps much of its old tacky signage and price lists plastered all over the counter.
This is one of the available lounges under the Priority Pass. Upon registration, I was told that my access was for 3 hours and that gym use is not included. That wasn’t an issue to me. My main objective was to get documents printed. If you ever need to get documents printed while you are at Changi Airport, the Ambassador Transit Lounge in Terminal 2 is one of the few to offer this service. The going rate is S$ 1.20 per page.
There is an unmistakeable space age look in the lounge especially when one visits in the evenings. The lounge chairs are very spacious and are equally comfortable for lounging around or for dining.
Power outlets are conveniently situated in each seat – a godsend considering many airport lounges even in this day and age are not as generous in this aspect.
When I got there that evening, there were a couple of hot dishes in the buffet including Thai and Indian curries and rice. But generally speaking, the spread is not as expansive as in other airport lounges.
There is also some crackers, fresh fruit and various cheeses; as well as a coffee machine.
Verdict
If ambiance and comfort are important to you, then the newly refurbished Ambassador Transit Lounge in Changi Airport Terminal 2 is certainly very easy to the senses. You won’t go wrong coming here if you need to get some work done as the lounge offers extra services such as printing, photocopying, fax, etc. If you are in need of a workout, you can also use the gym and they’ll provide you with the attire (extra charges apply). However, I find this lounge a bit lacking in terms of food. It is decent overall but you may be better off in other lounges (The Green Market or TGM is a personal favorite at Terminal 2).
