The Salon at Hotel Fort Canning will be showcasing three types of turkey such as the Chili Crab Roasted Turkey (S$168) and Salted Egg Roasted Turkey (S$148). There is also a new flavor debuting this year which is the Satay Turkey (S$138) which is marinated overnight with an aromatic blend of fresh lemongrass, turmeric, galangal, cumin and coriander powders. For those with a sweet tooth, guests can also avail themselves of six different yule logs for takeaways. Flavors this year include Beetroot, Matcha Sesame, Passionfruit, Almond, Chocolate and Purple Sweet Potato (S$64 to S$68 each).

Executive Jean-Charles Dubois’ signature Honey Slow-roasted Turkey (S$138) weighs up to 6kg and can be ordered with add on dishes available at S$25 each including roasted baby French Grenaille potatoes, sautéed caramelized Brussel sprouts, and truffled chicken and foie gras pâté. Making its debut this year, the luscious and aromatic Lavender Roast Turkey with Orange, Apple & Cinnamon Stuffing (S$198 net) is one of the more unique turkey renditions I’ve seen for the season. A healthier flavor, the 4.5kg turkey is roasted to perfection with lavender that balances out the flavor profile. Lavender emits a wonderful aroma, gives a slight floral twist to the fragrance, and enhances the richness of the Christmas bird. The turkey also comes with a fruity twist through the roasted oranges, apples, lemon, bread and cinnamon stuffing.

I have personally tried the takeaway selection at St. Regis Singapore, whether it be the roast lamb or the ham and they’re usually some of the best takeaways I’ve tasted each season. Hopefully this year will be of no exception. Families can look forward to the likes of Roasted Lamb Leg with Truffle and Mustard (S$188) which comes with side dishes such as Buttered Vegetables and Truffled Mash Potato. This hotel has what is probably the most photogenic log cake I’ve seen this year. The Santa’s Sleigh (S$88) features a trio of flavours – strawberry, mango and pear mousse cake atop the handcrafted chocolate sleigh. Alternatively, Carlton Hotel Singapore’s signature Christmas goodies are also available including the popular Homemade Hazelnut Chocolate Panettone (S$30) and the Homemade Stollen (S$30).

There is a deliberate Peranakan flair to this year’s highlight at Sheraton Towers Singapore with the Ayam Siow Roasted Turkey. The bird is infused with homemade coriander tamarind sauce for 36 hours before being slow roasted, and served with nasi goreng (turmeric fried rice) stuffing, sautéed brussels sprout with hijau (green chilli) and roasted masala potato. Other savoury highlights include the new Maple-glazed Bone-in Cola Gammon Ham, Roasted Australian Grass-Fed Rib Eye, and Baked Salmon and Mushroom Duxelle En Croute.

The One Farrer Hotel will feature a number of savory takeaway items this year including its signature Salt-Encrusted Turkey (S$168). Weighing a staggering 6kg, the bird has been a festive signature of the hotel since 2016 and is inspired from a farm to table philosophy. Apart from this signature item, there will also be a Roast Truffle Turkey (S$158) and Roasted Truffle Chicken with Lemon Thyme (S$58) available for takeaway. For red meat lovers, the Spiced Orange Glazed Boneless Ham (S$128) and Traditional Roasted Ribeye with Home-grown Farm Herbs (S$218) are deserving options.
