I have previously written about cashback websites, or portals that provide rebates for purchases made via affiliates. The previous one I recommended was geared towards an international (i.e. American) audience. For those living within Southeast Asia, particularly Singapore, you can actually look at Shopback which essentially follows the same mechanism but has merchants closer to home and in many cases, higher rebates.
ShopBack Singapore works with online merchants across the spectrum including those I frequently buy from. Merchants such as foodpanda or Lazada for instance offer cash back of 12% with Shopback. The portal caters to the Singapore online consumer down to a tee. Even grocery purchases from NTUC and Cold Storage are eligible for cash back with Shopback.
Within the travel category, the bulk of the flight and hotel booking websites are included so there are actually plenty of opportunities to earn rebates on large ticket items – whether it be for flight tickets to Europe or hotel reservations for a 2-week honeymoon trip. You can enjoy savings with a Hotels.com coupon or even at Booking.com. For flights, you can always use an Zuji discount code for great savings. They also have a great sale that is coming up with great offers and deals and you can find more details on it here.
How to Join:
It’s easy to sign-up in their website. In addition, Shopback also has a mobile app so accessing the site is pretty easy and can even be done over the phone.
How it Works:
To get access to the rebates, make sure first that you are logged in. After that, all you need to do is click through a particular vendor’s page in Cashback. For example, if you want to access Expedia, you can go through this page and click on their affiliate link to make sure you get cash back on your purchase. After that, you can just transact online as per usual.
The rebate amount will become visible in your Cashback account within 48 hours. After 30 to 60 days, it becomes redeemable and you can have the money deposited to your bank account.
